No pics. We were at an appreciation dinner last night, given for volunteers at our in-house tv station. Everyone brought a dish and the tv station sprung for fried chicken and ribs. I had Cole slaw, potato salad, ribs and an enormous breast (that chick was a D cup, for sure). I brought a loaf of applesauce bread. I was the only one to label their dish with possible allergens (wheat, eggs, walnuts, no dairy). It was appreciated. We were at a table with a vegetarian, a diabetic and 2 lactose intolerants.

Overly busy and overly expensive (33 CHF) pizza from La Bestia in Lucerne - something tasted almost like almond extract, which makes no sense… https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...1c7874051.jpeg |

Disco Pizza, Lucerne - Detroit style in Switzerland was surprisingly good - likely due to the use of yummy European pizza ingredients - this was the “White Tears” (oh my) with spicy salami - pardon the lighting from the disco ambience

Hiway burger, sf carryout - my son had friends over so instead of wings we upgraded our catering for burgers & fries. Sadly 2 more friends arrived as I was exiting to fetch the food, doh!
chicken parm sandwich with extra sports peppers & grilled onion garlic fries had to eat this in my home office because my wife & I didn’t want to disrupt the kids and their fun and what might have been them using our wine glasses lol https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...a5c8fe98f.jpeg |

Tonight I'm going to make burgers with some ground beef I got at the farmers' market a while back. I'm going to roast some little potatoes - I get them nice and crispy - and saute some green beans.

Coming back here a year later was such a treat - I think this might honestly be my favorite pizza in the world - the “Mortadella Meets Burrata” from 60 Seconds to Napoli (this was the Hamburg branch) - the crust is so perfect and soft, and the toppings - oh my!
