interesting....can you describe that? I looked at their menu but still can't picture it. Do the fries get soggy?

Grilled New York steak, steamed buttered Brussels sprouts, baby potatoes in the air fryer. We're having a major wind event here today, 40-50 mph, so grilling should be interesting.

We had guests over for dinner last night and I made paella but at Mr. CE's request omitted the clams. We both agreed the dish was a failure without them -- dry and bland. It bummed me out because paella is one of my favs and I usually look forward to leftovers but I'll probably just toss these

(Mr. CE had long complained of a metallic taste when eating paella, and I thought it might come from the clams, but he said he tasted it again last night. His new theory is that it's the saffron. Looking online I see some people do perceive its taste as metallic -- and yes, we're using saffron from high quality sources -- but there's no way I'd omit it so he may just have to suck it up every year or two when I want to make paella.)

Last night - lazy. Frozen take out from New Dumpling https://www.newdumplingfood.com/

Some green onion pouches (defrost and pan fry) and Green Chive w/ Shrimp & Pork Dumplings  (boil from frozen) along with a Bean Curd Strips salad (not frozen). Mixed up some sweet/spicy sauce, and had a pleasant Schramsberg to wash it down.

I'd never heard of Crumbl until I was in St. Louis last weekend. That sugar cookie was amazing (I'm wasn't a huge fan of the other varieties), but 500+ calories each? Oof. Nine of us split about five cookies over the course of two days.

They just opened a location near me. People have been raving over the cookies, but oof is right.

My suggestion, don't look at moon cake calorie counts... 500ish calories each? Lol

I couldn't agree more. I've never met a cookie I didn't like, but other than my Aunt Leona's sugar cookies, they have always been about the most boring type of cookie one could imagine. Crumbl's are spectacular. That pink frosting is heavenly.

I was just there last week and there was a family of four sitting out in front sharing the box of four - different varieties cut up. I was leaving with my own box of four. I said to the dad, "And I don't have to share mine!" He laughed and said, "Lucky you!"

I love a GREAT sugar cookie. Carol's does a great job with hers and and Fox & Obel used to have a great one. To me, great = soft interior and enough sugar on the top that it had a little crunch. Crunbls didn't have the crunch but it was great nonetheless.

Fox and Obel used to have a lot of great things (red velvet cupcakes come to mind) and I never got sick once! 😉

It's that a wink? I quickly learned to always check expiration dates after getting burned a couple times!

TJ's used to have a great sugar cookie (on the baked goods display in a brown cardboard box) but now they only have molasses cookies in that game style. Not as good!
