A friend happened to be out in San Francisco this week and is bringing back a Czech-style pilsner from out there for me.

The only (sort of) local Czech Pilsner I've had is the Joseph Brau from Trader Joe's, brewed by Gordon Biersch in San Jose. It's okay at best. I trust that's not what you're waiting for.

I'm curious to know more when it arrives.

Special celebration meal with part of the extended family: charcoal grilled (medium rare) ribeye steaks, baked potatoes, homemade cornbread muffins, mixed green salad -- and from-scratch chocolate cream pie.
