I am not allowed to cook fish indoors. Cooked on a grill mat skin side down and flipped for the last minute.

Tonight I just tossed some broccoli and orecchiette with garlic and red pepper flakes, then added cheese. It was ok - quick and easy and had lots of vegetables, which I've sorely needed lately. It was sort of an experiment, and I think it really needed some sausage or meatballs in it. Maybe next time.

I liked it a lot; we'll definitely make it again. We didn't have crme frache in the house, so we used a combination of sour cream and labneh. Next time, I'll make sure to have crme frache.

My father in law has company so I offered to make dinner for everyone. I made a massive crockpot of chili. There was shredded aged cheddar to top it and squishy fresh Italian bread to sop up the juices. I never got around to taking a picture. I also missed smelling it all day while it cooked at his house.

Your fro yo place looks cool. I always appreciate a variety of nondairy alternatives.

Your “Oreo” looks like a whoopee pie to me.

Looks kinda like "a choy"... which would be a type of lettuce. What did your MIL call it?

Ill have to ask again. Should have an answer later. But based on the mustardy-radishy flavor I would say related to bok choy and similar varietals.

Update: veggie identified as celtuce (Wikipedia article), commonly called celery lettuce or Chinese lettuce. Good preliminary ID StuckInYYZ! We ate the leaves, but MIL says she also likes to make the stems if she can find them.
