Could have been worse. I just needed something quick. Didn't feel like having a burger and didn't feel like cooking. Studying for a certification is painful right now so some "comfort" food doesn't hurt.

Green beans and ground pork stir fry on white rice, a block of fresh tofu with "scallion" sauce and a beefsteak tomato with a sprinkle of salt. Dessert was some pre-mixed yoghurt with some raspberries from the garden.

I can’t find what I used to use and don’t remember the name. This is my backup and almost as good. I cook it on a grill mat at 500°F after liberal application of olive oil and seasoning.

Took a Costco roasted chicken, some honey smoked BBQ sauce and tossed it with some rotini and a large purple onion.... it wasn't bad and I made a few more portions that can go in the freezer for when I'm experiencing a brain freeze.

Crack chicken in the crock pot. I'm still running on fumes, so anything that I can toss in a crock pot and forget about is perfect.

"clear the kitchen" stew always works for me when I need to clear a shelf or two... Beans, lots of frozen vegetables, mushrooms, potatoes, chilli mix or whatever tomato-based sauce... Some sort of thickening agent... A few minutes before I want to tuck in, drop in the protein... Ladle some over a bed of rice or pasta.

If I'm having a lazy weekend, I'll break out my second one and make some soup too... Although that one is a different affair...

Big salad & La Brea bakery french baguette with rosemary olive oil and balsamic for dipping.
Grilled rib eye steak with lots of grilled onions.
It was the maiden voyage for my Meatr toy(which I had never heard of until Boxo mentioned it) and I admit that I was afraid to trust it. But it was right on with the temp. My complaint is that the range for the thing is ridiculous. I can barely step away. Of course they will sell you range upgrades but the thing was not cheap and I refuse to pay more for what should have been already there.
Steak was delicious.

I may try that one of these days. I cooked enough crack chicken that we'll have that for dinner again tonight.

The only problem I have with slow cooking is that you generally have to make more than you really want (unless you have multiple people eating). I haven't tried those personal size crockpots yet (I already have two slow cookers so a third is pushing it). But it'd be nice to be able to shrink the portions to cut down on any waste.
