New Years Day brunch plan:

- Italian Sausage Sweet Potato Hash w/ Baked Eggs and Avocado
- Skillet Hatch Chile Cornbread
- Banana Walnut Muffins
- Lemon Blueberry Squares
- Boozy Fruit Salad

Several bottles of prosecco/cava, fresh OJ for mimosas, good coffee, kombucha, variety of teas, a case of Topo Chico and a big batch of bloody marys.

Cooking for 9-12 people. Precooking the hash and muffins tonight. The hash can be done almost entirely the day before, then as people arrive I'll put batches in the oven with a few eggs cracked on top for ~10 minutes until the eggs are baked and the hash is reheated.

Gonna make the bloody mix tonight. The cornbread recipe is just a matter of mixing stuff together and dumping it in a skillet. Same for the lemon squares. Makes for an easy morning.

Oh, and can't forget the hot sauces. Tabasco, Cholula and Yellowbird habanero sauce.

Don't know about Tabasco and Yellowbird but Cholula is a great choice.

I had a donut with maple glaze and bacon yesterday. Basically and bacon donut. It was stupidly good, in an “I’m a little bit embarrassed for eating that” way.

Today had what some years ago was a regular for me:

Low fat fruit/berry youghurt
Dark rye bread with Emmenthaler cheese and smoked turkey
Two soft poached eggs with some smoked salmon
Darjeeling tea
Blue/Blackberry smoothie

Wow. I didn’t have breakfast today running for a flight and haven’t anything other than snack mix and stuff in flights and in the Admirals Club. And that breakfast sounds so damn good.

It certainly was. A little heavier than my ordinary BF, but being Sunday it became more of an early Brunch.

Had my first Tamago gohan set at a S'kiya in Tokyo last week. Not sure it'd make it onto my all time best list, but it was certainly a tasty choice and was worth it to gross out my western colleagues.

Snooze in AZ has a "Breakfast Pot Pie" which is homemade sausage gravy over puff pastry, topped with an egg and a side of hashbrowns. It's delicious.
