Your favorite Breakfast?

Breakfast at The George.... great preparation for a full day at the RN Museums in Portsmouth dockyard. Having enjoyed the thread about a "Full English" brekkie causing distress for a vegan in North Wales.... I thought we might discuss (and show photos?) of OUR favourite way of Breaking the Fast....... |
I'm not really an egg fan but I'll eat them if they're there. Pancakes or waffles, however, I'll definitely have.
|
Nothing goes better with eggs than hash browns or home fries. It's a requirement in order to be considered a 'favorite'. Beyond that, the options are many.

That breakfast looks good to me. I'm a fan of the traditional English, Irish, or American breakfast. I'll loosely define and generalize those as containing eggs, some type of breakfast meat, some type of potato (or beans), and toast.
Pancakes, waffles, etc. are for kids or dessert! :D |

I particularly enjoy an American or English breakfast, but my heart is always touched by dim sum (:D)

The only thing that would improve a full English (IMO) would be the addition of a potato product...hash browns..home fries.....
|
My favorite breakfast is an omelet stuffed with diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, and chopped spinach, then shredded cheese sprinkled on top.
Add some hash browns , some buttered toast, and a cup of coffee with a bit of half & half and I am a happy girl... and in no need of lunch. :) |
i like a full english breakfast!
Pass on the black pudding though. |
I enjoy a breakfast of biscuits and gravy.

A few ounces of salmon (grilled or smoked) and some eggs. Add in a large mug of coffee and I'm set.

Anthony Bourdain's scrambled egg recipe, along with some fresh berries and a slice of toasted rustic bread spread with avocado and quality olive oil—one that's still got a little spice to it.
- Fry chopped bacon in a skillet - Once cooked, pour whipped eggs over the bacon - Sprinkle on a generous amount of chopped green onion - Once the eggs are slightly set, add a dollop of sour cream and scramble Served with a pot of black coffee and a glass of grapefruit juice. My second choice would be roti canai with a fish curry from a Mamak stall in Malaysia. |
OMG, that breakfast looks great! Until my first visit to the UK, I had never had broiled tomatoes for breakfast. Once I did, it was like - why did I wait so long to do this???
Living in the southern US, I also have to say that biscuits (proper ones, not those hard things that pass for biscuits) are a wonderful addition to early morning. I'm now going to have to start photographing breakfast when I travel...assuming, I like the meal, of course. Great thread! |
But the Brits could learn from you folks and ADD SOME POTATO!!! :D Then I would ......SWOON over the meal!!!
P.S. Would a British Scone come close to the kind of "biscuits" you like?? |
My favorite breakfast is anywhere that serves lunch foods at 7am.
