Those all sound awful, though campari is nice with soda or (better yet) sweet vermouth (called an Americano). Add a slug of gin to an Americano and you've got a Negroni, which are delightful.

Nope, that's not it. I love malty Oktoberfest beers. Fat Tire is mal-brewed.

It is hideous. Ground aspirin in gasoline is about the only way I can describe it. Toss up between that and some Romanian moonshine for the worst thing I've had..

Just horrible.
Funny you should mention that, as yesterday at lunch I was sitting at the bar, and after I said how much I disliked honey bourbon, the baretender replied, "We had to send it all back, couldn't even shift it as a reduced special."

You did it wrong. I believe that is meant as a complement to a plate of andouillette sausage - the absolute nastiest food I've ever encountered, and I've had kidney (or was it liver?) stew for breakfast in India.

The nastiest drink I can recall was some house special (I forget the Spanish name) at a Mexican restaurant in Florida. "Rust" colored, and absolutely nothing redeeming about it; I think I would've preferred a can of Irn Bru with a shot of scotch, and hate both of those items!

You do know that some folks prefer Clamato in their beer, rather than plain tomato juice?

That's how I feel about Inca Kola.

Campari and OJ is a great drink to linger over; it cuts the sweetness of the juice. Campari itself is astringent, like liquid alum.

I've had that watermelon beer, drinking more than half the can because I'm cheap and I paid for it: vile stuff. Pumpkin Ale isn't all that much better after the novelty of the first one. I tried pineapple wine in Hawaii to cross it off on my "try stuff from all 50 states" list; I don't like pineapple in the first place!

I bought a bottle of Dry Fly bourbon ($50 for 375ml ... temporary insanity). Still have half of it left, and am s-l-o-w-l-y finishing it one small shot glass at a time. If it'd been any less expensive I'd toss it. Ironic as their Port Cask whiskey is outstanding!

And it can be quite good, if prepared right! The best I've been able to get is: a light Mexican lager*, tomato juice, a few generous squeezes of lime juice, salt, and a dash of cayenne pepper. My father (a longtime bad influence ) got me into Clamato originally, but now I prefer straight tomato juice.

* I use Tecate. Needless to say, Fat Tire would not be a good beer choice for this.

For awful, Laphroaig. I could make a similar drink by chugging a bottle of Liquid Smoke.
Sorry I have to say I love Laphroaig. You are of course entitled to your opinion, but feel free to donate your leftovers here!

For me its between Kessler's "Whiskey" or whatever it really is (I wonder if you could run an engine on it.....it tastes so vile you probably could!) or a bottle of extremely cheap "chianti" wine I bought at a hostel in Italy. that was some awful wine. Horrible purchase too, as we had just drank some wonderful delicious chiantis prior. It left the worst aftertaste let me tell you.

Ten High bourbon is also terrible. Honorable mention.

There's always a lot of debate around drinks that aren't so much bad as they are polarizing. Sure, every drink in the world must have at least a few people who are fans, else how did the recipe get distributed? But some have a pretty strong following even if most people find the taste off-putting. Laphroaig is one of those. Personally I dislike it as I find the burning taste to evoke the idea of drinking kerosene. But I recognize that plenty of people do enjoy it, so I'll never state an opinion like, "OMG. Laphroaig is the Worst. Scotch. Ever." Instead I reflect some awareness of the world outside my own head by telling people who ask me about it, "Laphroaig has a very strong peat flavor. A lot of people, myself included, don't like it for that reason, but I know several people who swear by it."

That is a very fair and honest opinion. I too have drinks I do not like (they tend to sweet and low on flavor lol). I feel the same way about them. If people like them, drink up. Cheers!

A bit of explanation is in order. Thirty years ago in Japan, "orange juice" (orenji juusu) didn't mean "orange juice." It meant carbonated orange drink, and still does in many cases.

So I've been in Japan many months, and I go to what looks like a Western-style bar with some friends. I'm tired of beer and sake and don't like whiskey to begin with, so I spot vodka on the shelf behind the bar and ask for a screwdriver.

Now the bartender has probably read the recipe for a screwdriver, but he doesn't realize that "orange juice" really means the juice of an orange.

So I get this nasty concoction made of vodka and sickly sweet carbonated orange drink.

My dad once ordered a "scotch and soda" and got a "chardonnay and soda." Yick.

I once knew someone with an ulcer whose choice of beverage was scotch and milk. Double yick.

Beer is fantastic. Tomato juice is fantastic. Together: triple yick.

I once had pizza beer. Godawful. Two of the greatest things in the world, and together they are vomitous.

I am waiting for some clown to come out with cotton candy or Jelly Belly beer.

I know this means I'm a philistine but I find Pimm's Cup to be utterly vile.

That just doesn't sound quite right.

In Southern Thailand one of the cheapest drinks (apart from their odd local spirit stuff) is a vodka-like drink of 40% spirit called Black Cock which costs about $6 for a 750ml bottle. You can upgrade to Red Cock for another dollar or so.
