No - this is not a typical price (costco is special and has a few really cheap items to buy and eat)
A halfway decent pizza would cost $15-20 for a margarita more for meat at a restaurant. Chain (sort of edible) pizza runs around $6 for an individual (small)...... places like Dominos (which I don't think is edible others disagree). Not starting a pizza thing just pointing out that $2 is a unique situation!

yes, Costco food court still has some very cheap things.
hot dog & soda is $1.50. Around 1990 it was $1.35. Nowhere else has it for so cheap.

btw at Costco, how would one now get mustard relish etc for the hot dog? Does the server have prepackaged cups of these?

Right... I mean, we have Costco too... but prices (after exchange rate) are nowhere near as good as in the US, for literally everything.

They ask you if you want mustard and ketchup, then give you single serve packets, but only the yellow mustard, not the golden (deli-style) brown, I am not sure about the onions and relish, though.

A Honeycrisp apple and sliced Tillamook sharp cheddar.

I've had great luck in crisp apples until today. Today's was a beautiful deep red color, but mushy. Win some, lose some.

sad about the honey crisp! I had a nice one yesterday. Theyre great and not cheap. I wont even buy them at Costco because its a $15 bag that we couldnt finish in time. Its really great for the curry chicken salad that I recently discovered in December (another mom gave me the recipe). Mega yum.

I had plans this week to make curry chicken salad for the first time, but I ate half the chicken breast pieces for meals before I could cube it. I have no bread to make a sandwich anyway. I have some whole chickens being delivered today, so I need to pull some packets of chicken breast out of the freezer to make room. Oh, and a loaf of bread is coming today too!

ETA - I have a couple Rosalyn apples I haven't tried yet. Fingers crossed they'll be good.

I used Costco rotisserie chicken for the curry chicken salad. I used sour cream instead of mayo.
I live in San Francisco so we have a lot of bread choices. For Xmas I used japanese milk bread from Craftsman & Wolves. $9/loaf. Super yum.

We did takeout from Beef OBradys last night. I ordered grilled shrimp with broccoli and a baked potato. The baked potato was a substitution for the rice listed on the menu. My conversation with the bartender taking the order over the phone convinced me I had been clear, because she asked if I wanted the rice in addition to the potato (no). The order ticket in the bag definitely showed the correct order. However, when I got home and opened the styrofoam box, there was rice and no potato. My father-in-laws prime rib sandwich was to his liking and that counts for more so I think we will continue ordering from there. I will definitely bring up the potato mix-up when I pickup my next order and open each box on the bar to inspect the contents.
