Last turkey burger today. I'm pondering heating up chicken for dinner, although I'm also pondering just calling it an early night.

Pancakes and scrambled eggs, with Maine maple syrup (and iced coffee)
Two slices of pepperoni pizza and a salad. The pepperoni from this place comes in big sheets, and the edges are just a little burnt. Love it.
Dinner was grilled chicken breasts (marinated in bbq sauce) and grilled asparagus. And Gruner Veltliner, and a Dove bar. I must just have The Touch with chicken, because I don't think I've ever made a dry rubbery chicken breast in my life. Everyone seems to warn you about that with boneless skinless breasts.

Now I've poured the last of the Gruner (I basically let myself have half a bottle) and we are watching Big Brother. My foot is resting on the cat, and he's nice and warm. It's a nice life.

A late breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs, followed by toast and marmalade, led to no lunch. Then a late and enormous tea of two scones with clotted cream and jam, a blueberry crisp and a large chocolate brownie resulted in not being able to cram in more than some homemade tomato soup and some strawberries (without cream) for a late dinner.

I'll pay for all of this throughout Monday.

This is for Jaimito Cartero now that we are stocked up as the kids are home/online schooling due to COVID!

Oh, I’d go broke buying most of those in Indonesia now, if they’re imported.

My kid got some local Kellogg’s Fruit Loops a couple of weeks ago, and the flavor and color was just different. We brought 4 big luggages full of food items when we arrived in March, about 25% as gifts, but 95% of the stuff is gone. The last I checked, just some Kirkland dry roast almonds, one bag of Cheezits, and a Costco Jelly Belly container. I don’t eat too much sweet stuff, but have to pick through the jellybeans to avoid the cappuccino flavor.

I’m sorely missing my favorite Mexican food places, and Maggiano’s.

Although staying at a Hilton in Asia for the last 9 days is pretty good. Had a delicious yellow watermelon juice tonight. Should be interesting to compare the food here to a Ritz-Carlton this weekend, and a JW Marriott next week.

It was good, but nothing special. My wife said she might prefer Breyer's over Turkey Hill.

I agree. It's really a different store now. But we're half way between Mariano's and Jewel, and the Jewel near us is atrocious. We've actually found a Mariano's a few miles further that reminds us more of the pre-Kroger Mariano's and have gone there twice now. That's where we saw the Tillamook.

We don't eat a lot of desserts unless we have company, but will try it next time.

Even more than browning, I think it makes a crispier sandwich than butter. But I like the flavor of butter better on a grilled cheese. I think it depends on what you're in the mood for. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to put shredded cheese on the outside. I love pan cheese, but I use plenty inside the sandwich already!

A couple of Birch Bender's chocolate chip keto pancakes and 3 strips of bacon. Freshly ground Major Dickason's for the coffee.

Looking forward to some sort of salad for lunch

im torn about the cheese outside the sandwich but it’s fun. I’m still learning.

We made a salsa yesterday out of my friend's home-grown tomatoes and peppers - jalapenos that had turned red on the plant. Not ghost pepper hot, but I was tearing up a little bit during the taste test, and I can handle pretty spicy food. It's not quite as bad when eaten with food though.

Grilled jalapenos, grilled poblanos, tomatoes, onion, tomatillos, garlic, lime juice, salt. We'll be eating it for the next couple days.

fabulous salsa. I enjoy making pico de Gallo but without the peppers and garlic; I have them separately for myself and enjoy the heat :-)

I haven't really tested these peppers by themselves but this crop is dangerous looking.

We thought about making a pico with it. But instead put it all in the food processor and made it into a chunky salsa.

Dangerously delicious and beautiful. Now that we've fully moved into our suburban house, we plan on growing peppers next year.

It would be fun to grow peppers - we have a small area that I can try. Is there a good starter brand to seek - I assume Safeway sells seeds near their floral area. I know that the korean supermarket has seeds but I’m not letting myself go there until the air quality improves. For now I’m sticking with my common denominator Safeway.

I never use our blender so I’m missing out on all sorts of things to process... sigh. Blender use feels like more trouble than reward.
