I agree. It's really a different store now. But we're half way between Mariano's and Jewel, and the Jewel near us is atrocious. We've actually found a Mariano's a few miles further that reminds us more of the pre-Kroger Mariano's and have gone there twice now. That's where we saw the Tillamook.

Even more than browning, I think it makes a crispier sandwich than butter. But I like the flavor of butter better on a grilled cheese. I think it depends on what you're in the mood for. I don't think I'll be in a hurry to put shredded cheese on the outside. I love pan cheese, but I use plenty inside the sandwich already!
