Ritz lunch

Lunch with the family at our current hotel. Pictures of some of the items.

We had 4 different appetizers/salads/soups. Nachos, Caesar salad with chicken and bacon, cajun chicken salad and minestrone.

My daughter got the bucatini seafood marinara. She took the arugula off the top.

And finally, ice cream, chocolate and strawberry with mango topping and caramel crisp.

Indonesians put spicy chili sauce or ketchup on pizza. I don’t. Only parmesan and dry chili flakes.

We are having our first stay at a Ritz Carlton, and if you get lounge access, you get 3 meals a day. Pretty good food, but a bit too posh for me.

Oyster is different than hoisin but neither belongs anywhere near a pizza. And that pizza looks fine as is.

If the issue, as I suspect, is pork, there are several brands of pepperoni which are pork free and are made from turkey or beef. In my area, Whole Foods, Ralph's and Sprouts carry Applegate Naturals Turkey Pepperoni.

If green peppers in particular and bell peppers in general suddenly went extinct, I'd be leading the planning committee for a parade in celebration. Bell peppers as a whole don't digest well for me and green peppers are the worst of the bunch.

Bell peppers don't do much for me on pizza. Banana peppers, on the other hand, are fantastic.

Pizza pie!

Red onions, garlic, green olives, red or yellow bell peppers, mushrooms and various pepperoni, Italian sausage and such all work great for me. Usually not into white pizzas, but did get a really nice one recently, so I’m willing to adapt if it’s good.

I’ll eat pineapple on a pizza if we have to order it for family peace. My wife and daughter both like it, so it does get ordered.

For lunch, leftover Lou Malnati salad. I added Black Forest ham, cheddar, green onion slices, green and orange pepper slices (for Corky), avocado (for kipper), cherry tomatoes, a handful of kidney beans and Ranch and Western dressings.

I acquiesce to pineapple but only with a spicy sausage/pepperoni to go with it. Ham doesn't do it for me.

You make Detroit pizza which is a thick crust similar to Malnattis...why won't you just make it or order it via goldbelly? It doesn't have to have pepperoni.

You know, you can have frozen Lou's delivered? My niece's husband died suddenly a couple of months ago in Dallas. Her sisters, and my sister (her mother) drove down to be with her and her daughters. We sent a 1/2 dozen Malnati's frozen pizzas. Since they're all from Illinois, it was comforting for them during a terrible time.
