Chicken Piccata and linguine. No pasta separator needed.
|
Pesto di Pra' with my pasta, followed by a black truffled pecorino. Both wildly expensive, of course, but so good.

Good news/bad news.
My wife made some beef short ribs, with a nice spicy marinade, and finished on the bbq with some good bbq sauce. Very tasty! The bad news, it’s local Indonesian beef which can be very, very tough. If we stay a long time here, I need to get a sous vide machine.

I love my short ribs that I've done in the sous vide but it is a 2-3 day process. Here's the guide I used for making them. |

Don't discount a pressure cooker like an Instant Pot either. I use both methods for tough beef. Short ribs are particularly good in the pressure cooker in my experience. Marinate, sear, braise, and serve.

At our house in Indonesia, we don’t have a pressure cooker or instant pot, either. Just normal, smaller size stove/oven with gas tank, and a couple of gas bbq’s.

Last night, an excellent chicken breast with pesto, taleggio and paprika, with roasted baby tomatoes, and green beans from the garden. Finished off with some extremely disappointing supermarket peaches, which were completely tasteless, and meringues, still warm from the oven.

A simple egg, ham, cheese with onion sandwich for breakfast.

how do you cook the French fries? Do you have a deep fryer or was it stove top?

Curry chicken (carrot / Potato / onion) luncheon - better spice than before and next time I’m boosting the curry powder.
