Had executive set lunch at the Salt Grill and Sky Bar, 55th level of ION Orchard Singapore. This place has great views of Singapore downtown, because the ION building is the tallest building in the immediate vicinity.
This restaurant was by Luke Mangnan, a famous Australian chef. My choices for the lunch were, 1. Tea Smoked Quail 2. Fillet (beef) 3. Lukes Liquorice Parfait Here are some pictures. The view from the restaurant. http://i58.tinypic.com/212983p.jpg Tea Smoked quail. This was the starter, but definitely a sizable portion of meat in its own right. http://i62.tinypic.com/3479u0y.jpg The dessert, Lukes Liquorice Parfait. I was told this was a signature dessert. Never tasted anything like it. Definitely worth a try. http://i58.tinypic.com/1j9mgx.jpg The lunch was relatively expensive, at Singapore $80++ (total about $100). The food was above average, something different. The best part of the restaurant has to be the views. Here is a short video clip I took of my lunch at the restaurant. The clip would give you a much better idea of how the restaurant looked like, the views and of course, the food! Check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtYaEyQ0lMY |

And UK1, haven't you finished all the flour yet? :p :D http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...6985B53EF4.jpg Lunch was ribs with onion bhajis and coleslaw without the carrot - as she forgot to buy me one! http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...FF76BA1285.jpg |
I made a thai green curry. Since mum and I are both still alive, having eaten all of it, I am officially adding thai green curry to the list of things I can cook.

My dinner last night:

Hainanese roasted chicken rice, from a local coffeeshop. This portion costs SGD $3, or about 2.4 USD. Had black coffee to go along with it.
http://i60.tinypic.com/10wnqxv.jpg Very short video clip of the dish. The magic is with the chilli. Fiery! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My8nxPEswuI |

Double double at the local In N Out...it's been 2-3 years since my last one.
A really good fast food burger, perhaps the quality and freshness of the ingredients stood out the most for me. However, unless I'm craving a fast food burger as I was today, I'd prefer to go to our local pub, restaurant, or even The Counter for a well made, hand crafted burger. |
