For me, the best way to enjoy champagne is:
- On a plane in a premium cabin
- On a balcony with a beautiful woman, preferably with a strawberry in the stem

For me, I only drink small quantities of champagne, and I prefer to enjoy these small quantities out of the navel, or some other orifice of a beautiful woman's body. Frankly, this is the only application for which I find Champagne to be my wine of choice.

Well I haven't tried the Dom yet but I did try a bottle of Moet Chandon Imperial NV. It's not in the same category as the Dom, but it's what I had on hand over the weekend. It goes well with brie cheese and bread and white grapes. I found the champagne to be good overall, dry, a little sweet and a little sour at the same time. I am looking forward to trying to Dom on another occasion.
And no, I did not mix it with Diet Pepsi!

don't sweat it. if you do blind imperial with dom, half will choose the the imperial.
if you do a really high end champagne, like a salon, or a krug, or tattinger blanc de blanc, 75% will choose the imperial. highenders are very dry, tart, and do not have the yeast flavor which makes the fullness. also, if you think price makes good, wrong. crystal is a serious joke.

This could be true for any good sparkling wine, prosecco, cava whatever.
Costco is selling the 2002 Vintage Dom Perignon for about $120, I think. I've thought about acquiring some but I wonder what is a good way to enjoy it? Drink it by itself, have it with a good cheese, drink it with dinner? If you had it with dinner, what food would you serve?

The $120 price is outstanding.

I prefer it without food - before dinner, with someone worth drinking it with.
However, I also like it a lot with ordered in pizza - don't ask me why, but it works and works well!
I also love drinking champagne in an outdoor hot tub
Bubbles with bubbles!
(DJGMaster1's method also works for me, albeit in a slightly more overt manner
)

I should correct that. The actual price at Costco is $139.xx for the 2002.

Good bread, like a nice crusty ciabatta, Perhaps with a mild hummus..
I am not as refined though.. I did a parallel tasting of champas at an event hosted by my local wine shop, including Krug etc..
My favorite was the Moet Grand Vintage.. but I would rather two of the imperial for the same price...

I have a liquor license and buy wholesale. I got it for less than $500 a case after the crash. ps: just looked it up, you are right. It's doubled. I'll have to gorge on my next CX flight in F !
