Gotta wonder what will occur if they have to have a 'new coke' moment

order it without. They have a carryout medium 1 topping for 3.99, cant pass up a cheap meal. Chain pizza is pizza, I dont want to sound like a snob, but after I went to Italy, NO Pizza is as good.

I've had pizza in Itlay and it is inarguably fantastic. However, there are some very gift pizza craftsmen in the United States who are capable of putting out pies that can hold their own against what you can get in Italy.

In all honesty, I must admit that there is one grievous fault with Italian pizza:

If you ask for it with pepperoni, they give you pieces of pepper!

The way around this is to ask for it with "salame piccante" and then you will receive real pepperoni. Of course, they hide this fact from tourists in order to really mess over their minds.

See, this is what you get when you ask for a good American food in Italy. What does Italy know about pizza? I bet they don't even have cheese stuffed into the crust.

I have not tried the new pizza ... but I always liked the original Domino's. It was always a secret indulgence when I travel but don't want to go out for dinner .... order a Domino's pizza, have it delivered to the room, crawl into bed, and watch TV while eating a Domino's pizza with everything on it!

The worst pizza I ever had was in Sicily and Italy (tied) when I was in the Navy. So, YMMV.

That is possible. I think the worst pizza I ever had -- including slices in Israel -- was in Rome. Still, the best pizza in the world is in Italy (see Post # 29 for details).

Not only that, the stupid Italians don't even sell Oreo pizza. How lame is that?

As others have stated, +1.

you read my mind dhammer53, getting Dominos, Papa John's, Sarpino's etc etc with all the BETTER local choices is a sin.

Then WHY an earth do people order it IF (repeat if) they can get better pizza locally?

I understand fully if there truly are no good pizza places near you. It can happen but from what I've found out is that most folks haven't tried all the local places near them.

Edit to add: due to the reason the OP states, I'll never try Domino's while being in the Chicago area.

I gave it a shot in mid January after seeing the endless commercials. Was feeling quite lazy one evening and my favorite local pizza spots weren't delivering at that hour so I gave it a shot.

It took over one hour for the pies to arrive and when they did they were lukewarm. As far as quality...well, the layer of cheese was paper thin and the only discernible difference to me was the salty lathering of garlic spread on the crust.

I expressed my dissatisfaction via email and, ~45 days later, am still waiting on the promised "money back guarantee"
