Consolidated "Domino's Pizza" thread

I haven't tried the new pizza yet because we have good local stuff, but any commercial where the CEO admits that the pizza tastes like crap (What did he think they were selling all these years, anyway?) catches my attention.

I liked the old stuff better personally. But then again, Pizza Hut is my favorite. Sometimes I feel like "real" pizza and go for the non-chains, but nothing beats greasy pan crust pizza hut pepperoni with extra cheese in my book. I liked Dominos for the same bland qualities too.

Just in the last couple of weeks I tried both the thin crust and the Brooklyn crust. They were both average at best and certainly not worthy of the PR blitz that Domino's is running now.

Lately I have been getting the papa johns, pepperoni, onions and jalapeo XL deal pizza they had going during the SB. I dont get pizza much anyways.. But we used to have Dominos large for $5.99 one day a week, before the national promotion kicked in. After that promo ended I havent gotten Dominos, but I been meaning to try the new pizza Maybe Ill try it over the weekend or something..

Right now, Im in the mood to get the 50 cent wings from pizza hut tomorrow.

In a word...no. If my pizza looked like the one in the ads....it probably would've been awesome...ours about sucked. The only good one was that with extra cheese.

I think we have a crappy franshisee anyway.

I think they are fine. I always loved Domino's crust for some odd reason and the garlic sauce they brush on it makes it taste better. However, the pizza doesn't taste good at all if it arrives cold. I prefer pizzas from local pizzerias but both Domino's and Pizza Hut seem to have great deals. From Domino's 2 Medium, 2 Toppings for $5.99 each and Pizza Hut's Large Supreme for $10.

There was no where to go but up from where it was before the revamp, right? I thought the crust was better and sauce also improved from before.

However, everything was extremely salty. There is a garlic salt that they dump all over everything, breadbowls, crust etc. Tone that down a bit and I think it is ok...maybe that is what they are using to mask the old flavors though.

Sounds like much ado about nothing. The salt they add to pizza these days has me waking up in the middle of the night to drink lots of water.

Agree. Pizza Hut is too greasy but I tried the new recipe this past weekend and kinda like the new Dominos. ^

Also curious: Now that he's rolled out a complete makeover for a major brand, the guy's next act? He's leaving the company.

I actually find their pizza worse... Now, I have to admit that I rarely eat Domino's... so many other local choices... but we tried it after the ad campaign... and found the crust to be have to much garlic flavor... it was overpowering.

I understand the comments from posters that don't live in your state... but come on... you have tons of good choices in the land of liberty.

Too much garlic? I can't conceive of such a thing!

In seriousness, my experience with Domino's has always been very localized. Some stores seem to produce decent pizza, others not so much. I haven't tried the new stuff, as there's no Domino's that will deliver to our neighborhood.

As DHammer53 will attest, we grew up eating some of the best pizza in the world.

I would rather not eat pizza than eat any from a chain. It's all awful.

I had it. Liked it pretty well. Better than the old kind, but I've had better pizza.
