I've had pizza in Itlay and it is inarguably fantastic. However, there are some very gift pizza craftsmen in the United States who are capable of putting out pies that can hold their own against what you can get in Italy.
In all honesty, I must admit that there is one grievous fault with Italian pizza:
If you ask for it with pepperoni, they give you pieces of pepper!
The way around this is to ask for it with "salame piccante" and then you will receive real pepperoni. Of course, they hide this fact from tourists in order to really mess over their minds.
