New Anthem The Amen Break

Visited Art History Brewing in Geneva IL last Friday and enjoyed several of their beers: Butterfly (Belgian Saison with balck currents) Good Morning Munich (Bavarian Helles - a growler of this one came home with us), Catch the Sun (hefeweizen), and Good Night Bamberg (rauchbier).

Working on a growler of Mo's Isolation Party Ale from Sacrilege Brewery in Half Moon Bay, CA.

From their website:
Mo's back with his own 100% Mosaic hopped Foggy IPA. What's a foggy IPA, you say? Fruity, bitter + just a little bit of HMB style summer fog.

I'm not tasting much fruit, this seems to be a typically somewhat bitter West coast IPA. Not bad.

Anyone here advise me?

What is a US beer that is most similar to Asahi Super Dry? It has to be really CRISP, DRY beer.

I wanted to purchase some Asahi Super Dry and have it delivered to some friends in upstate New York however I have come to realize this is just not realistic.

Japanese beers are made with rice. So is Budweiser. Get your friends a case of Bud (not Bud Lite).

Stella Artois is also made with rice.

I'd agree that a fresh case of Bud long necks would probably be as close as one could get in the US.

My alma mater is in the same town as a Bud factory, and we'd get cases of long necks that were bottled just a few days before consumption. I don't recall the beer being particularly noteworthy (or for that matter, much else from those times :D), but is was pretty much the least offensive beer in that price range, and went down easy.

Also probably worth adding that you should easily find Asahi in NY...just about every Japanese restaurant carries it. Why do you need to send it to your friends?

Budweiser.... it is so non special. =)

You can find Asahi easily in NYC, especially kegs, but in upstate NY, not available for delivery via online purchase.

I just discovered that you can filter your beers on Untappd by state! Now I'm on a mission!!!

As many of you know, I've been a proponent of Elevation Beer Co for years.

Thanks to COVID, we were forced to abandon our annual trip to Sweden. Instead, we did a 1000-mile tour of Colorado. Our final stop on the trip was at Elevation. They normally only offer tours after 4pm on weekdays; but I e-mailed last week and asked if we could swing by around lunch yesterday, and they were gracious enough to say yes. We arrived, got some beer poured for us, then Andy (he does everything but brew beer and balance the books) took us on a tour of the facility. It's very small (only 12 employees).

As such, their distribution footprint is very small (Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and a few other states that I can't remember), and many of their beers don't even leave their tasting room. While they know that demand for their beer is high, it doesn't seem like they want to expand any further. Their warehouse is a few hundred feet down the road, and that is also where they store their barrel-aged beers for aging (the original area in the brewery is now replaced with as many fementers as they could cram. In the picture below, I've only seen Signal de Bontrange in the wild (and that was about three years ago). On the plus side, they are migrating to canning all of their beers going forward--instead of bottled bombers--so I hope to see more of their inventory in Denver later this year.

The bar is very cozy, and they have a large outdoor patio covered by shade sails and tents (along with a permanent looking food truck). While we were there, a group of about 20 mountain bikers stopped to enjoy some drinks.

It is literally in the middle of nowhere, but, if you happen to be nearby, I highly recommend stopping by.

Nice. Did you see Greg B.?
Did you talk with him?
Was he understandable? :D
Tonight, I am going to test what a pair of posters in a Beer Advocate thread scribed: Have a Pilsner Urquell (16.9-oz. can) followed by a Warnesgruner Pils (12-oz. bottle) {found at Aldi}.
