Hit a couple breweries in Phoenix this week:
- Fate Brewing Company: I tried their Fateful IPA which was okay and their Buena Vista Blonde which was really mediocre. Overall I found their beer choices lacking. - Four Peaks Brewing Company: The first brewery I ever went to in fact, I've been coming here for 13 years. Their Peach Ale is still my favorite beer of all time so I had of those. I also tried their Xerocole Desert IPA which was very good. I also had a Corona Extra after hiking which got the job done :D |
Friday I had a couple cans of Battery Steele Golden Path, an unfiltered pilsner. It was perfect for hanging out in the back yard with friends for a socially distant happy hour. The brewery is just about a mile from my house.

Last night we shared some cans of Radio The Mothership Double IPA. Being an Imperial, it's really a full taste, very hoppy and fruity. Besides from enjoying the brew, there is an impressive work of art decorating the cans, i.e. a delight also for the eyes

Apalach IPA from Oyster City. We were at an outdoor bar last night that is open already through a technicality. We used to patronize it weekly when we lived here and were happy to find it in operation. A restaurant leases space on the premises (the technicality) and I had their fish tacos.

I love Battery Steele - phenomenal IPAs. Curious if I may ask - do you know if local breweries are doing takeout / delivery? Crossing fingers that the out-of-state quarantine gets lifted and we can visit next month.

Mowed the lawn last night. The post-mowing Summer Shandy really hit the spot.

Absolutely delicious |
12 pack of Miller High Life in the office fridge. It's getting hot in NC so an ice cold High Life at the end of the work day hits the spot.

Carling Black Ice strong beer (6.1%)

A newcomer in the go-to store caught my eye the other day, The Waldo's Special Ale from Lagunitas. First try yesterday turned out very positive. Had a couple of friends joining me on the patio, of course socially distancing, but as this Imperial has a very high ABV, 11.7%, we also fastened the lounge chair safety belts.

Founder's KBS this morning after a nice 16 mile bike ride (first time back on bike in 2-3 years, my body is hurting).
Always love this beer! |
Had a couple of Brooklyn East IPAs earlier today. Rather full & hoppy, bordering on the DIPA territory
|
Placed another order with Other Half Brewing today...looking forward to it - 4 4-packs of in-house double IPAs, and 2 separate collaborations (including one with Trillium in Boston, which I am a huge fan of).
