Hit a beer store in West Village yesterday. Didn't have the beer I was exactly looking for, so...
-Goose Island Bourbon County Stout, 2019 vintage -Mikkeller Lead a Horse to Beer Double IPA (fairly average, disappointing given they do really good beers usually) -Pohjala Szechuan Banger Imperial Stout (very interesting Szechuan peppercorn, Pu-Erh tea-infused beer from Estonia, of all places) -Evil Twin Oh My God, It's a Bozo! Imperial Stout (still in the fridge, TBD) |
A rather run of the mill day. Stopped for lunch at Ruby Tuesday on a 6 hour road trip and settled for Sam Adams. Got home and the only beer in the fridge was Goose Island IPA courtesy of my father in law. I will be beer shopping this afternoon.

Young Henry's Newtowner in Sydney Australia. I've got cans in the fridge and had a couple of schooners (425ml) at a venue last night.
Hitting Somerville MA next week and my wife is hoping that Long Trail Cranberry Gose is available locally (or even in Boston/Cambridge) - any ideas? |
Rolling Rock. I noticed it's a pretty light beer at only 4.5% ABV, lighter than I'd normally opt for but it was on sale.

You’re My Boy Blue, a blueberry wheat ale from Brew Bus out of Tampa. Decent but could stand a few frozen blueberries floating on top.
Havent tried it yet but a six pack of Hazy Sunrise wheat ale brewed with oranges from Tomoka out of Port Orange, Fl. |

As I am Clan Gunn on my mother’s side, I will always support I&G. Doesn’t hurt that they make delicious beer. It is also becoming rarer here.

I&G just did a worldwide crowdfunded seed capital venture to build a significantly larger brewery to help with worldwide demand. I hope it pays off for them.

Wynkoop Brewery Artillery Winter Ale - really good

Just back from a road trip to Alabama where I picked up Spring Street saison from Avondale Brewing Company, PBP peanut butter porter from Back Forty Beer Company out of Gadsden and White Zombie White ale from Catawba Brewing Company out of Morganton, NC. I haven't tried any of them yet. I did drop off a can of each with a friend in Panama City as we passed through Friday evening. I’m a slow drinker so it may be a week before I get to all three.

Had a Stone “Enjoy by 1.1.2020” unfiltered IPA yesterday. Pretty strong (9.4% ABV) but not super-impressed by the flavor. May grab some other beers in San Diego before heading out to Palm Springs / Joshua Tree in a couple days.

Bell's "This One Goes to 11" -- on draft at the local craft beer shop. Really good and scary smooth for an 11% -- you could sip these for a while and never know it was even close to that ballpark alcohol-wise.
