Do we Think 4th Tier Will Be Announced w/o July 27th?
I've been checking this forum 2x per day for the announcement of the 4th tier program. So ... if Delta is going to keep their word, they will announce it this week. My guess regarding timing of the announcement is as follows:
25% chance: won't be announced in July and no announcement of the delay. (I think the only official comment is from Richard Anderson in the Delta magazine ... so maybe Delta isn't too worried about making a bunch of customers upset)
25% chance: won't be announced in July (but will be announcement of the delay or new timing)
20% chance: Friday, July 31st
15% chance: Thursday, July 30th
10% chance: Wednesday, July 29th
5% chance: Tuesday, July 28th
I'll be disappointed if they delay. I'm looking forward to the new program and hopefully some tangible new benefits.
Your thoughts?

Honestly I am not expecting any announcement this week. And actually, I am not really looking forward to the new program since I doubt it will really have many tangible benefits that will stick - most likely the benefits will be the ones stripped away from platinums earlier this year. Some may say I am a pessimist. I think "realist" is a better word, based on past behavior of this airline.

Does anyone think they will raise the 75,000 amount to be Platinum for next year? I hope not as I am close and have been trying to achieve that.

1 SkyMiles members who earn 75,000 MQM for travel during 2009 will qualify for Platinum Medallion status in 2010.

What is meant in the title of this thread ".... w/o July 27th" ?
AFAIK, "w/o" is short for "without" (e.g. "with or w/o your permission").
Am I not "up" on my abbreviations?

I read that to mean that 75K will get you "platinum" but not necessarily "highest medallion tier." I am not so sure they would raise the PM level above 75K, but just add a 4th tier and want to be clear that 75K MQM gets you Platinum next year, not "diamond" or whatever it will be called.
