I prefer the KVS tool to ExpertFlyer in general, but was disappointed to learn that it can't display V inventory.

When asked about adding that as a new feature, the KVS author indicated this was 'currently impossible to add', but also noted that they are always looking for ways of displaying additional classes in the future.

Award Seats Visible on Expert Flyer ?

I am hoping any of the Expert Flyer users can answer this question. Can you see award seat (i.e. Skysaver and Skychoice) availability through Expert Flyer ? The award seat search function on Delta.com gives inconsistent results and I just dont trust it anymore. thanks!

AFAIK the award ticket buckets are not available on ExpertFlyer.

Certain registration levels of the KVS Availability Tool return SkyTeam award availability. There are some limitations, but I've found this tool to be generally helpful in locating award availability on DL and partner airlines.

Below is a list of DL's "special" fare codes that ExpertFlyer can show (you need to request them by entering the fare class when doing a search--they don't show by default). I believe the G bucket is also the domestic points award (not listed by EF) in addition to the domestic PMU bucket.

E Coach - Promotional Award
G First - Domestic PMU upgrade
V First - Domestic segment upgrade
X Business - Domestic segment upgrade
Z Business Elite - Upgrade with PMU or points

Does anyone know why DL wants to keep it so secret or make you pay for it? The Star Alliance airlines let you see the award buckets for free.

Even on EF, you can't see the DL award buckets (N, O and R). Oh wait ... that's because ... they are ... transparent!

OK, so I looked on EF for "V" availability on 2 segments I'm flying on Monday,
4 days away. It shows "V0" available, yet the upgrade is still pending. So,
I called Delta and said, "Hey, V shows available on these flights, can you
clear my upgrade?" and they say, "No. I show 1st is available, but upgrades
won't clear, except at the airport."

So, what don't I get. If V is Domestic Segment Upgrade, and its available,
and I'M PM, why hasn't the upgrade cleared???

Thanks for any clarification.

V0 means there are 0 (zero) V seats.

Exactly. If it said V3 then you would know there are 3 seats.

If it says V0, that means 0 seats available.

V2 means 2 seats, etc.

ExpertFlyer Problem

Trying to search on Z upgrade availability ATL-VIE in March and April and keep getting the following error message:

(Class Code Z: The requested information could not be retrieved or is not available. This is likely due to invalid input criteria or lack of access to the information from the airline. Please revise the search parameters and try again)

I checked and there are non-stop flights on the dsys I searched. Any suggestions?
