Repositioning to CUN or GRU is not an option for many people in the US. Visa reason, more travel means fewer vacation days, added costs to fly to CUN. Good for you if you live in CUN (or sorry) or if you can work this into another vacation.

Understood, was just pointing out that opportunities do exist.

GRU, no. However its 90k for no AP J booking.

However CUN has many quick options, including on Southwest, Spirit, etc. CUN is only 2- 2.5 hr flight from southern gulf states, nonstop from plenty of other cities. Also 65k for no AP J is heck of savings on miles. Also not sure if what visa issues you are meaning. Mexico (and Brazil) offer visa on arrival for US citizens. No needing to apply for one. Also note CUN currently has AF/KL nonstops operating on some days. No need to transit in US if don't want.

I'm flying into CUN morning AM and depart for ATL two or three hours later. No extra hotel night or day off.

Note that partner metal business from Caribbean/Mex is 75K. Still a pretty good deal, but not as low as D1 65K level. NAS is fairly close to same distance to ATL as CUN, but it's almost 500 miles closer to JFK than CUN and could represent significant time savings in some cases. It's also an easy hop from several Florida cities. NAS also has preclearance. Not entirely sure the detour is worth it from the Midwest/Northeast if you are just trying to get to Europe, but it's worth considering if you want to spend some time in the region anyways.

Was able to book quick trip in First SEA to SAN in September, out on Friday and back on Sunday for 52K for both me and the wife. Seems like a pretty good deal with the same tickets costing $840 for both of us if we paid in cash.

Stellar redemption rates from SEA and other origins to Mexican resort nonstops, eg one-way prices like basic 7k / main 9k / first 20k. Nothing special for off-peak travel, but unusually there is some availability across Thanksgiving dates where revenue fares can run $600+ one-way.

Presumably, these are 60-day advance partner YSMH350 awards. I wouldn't be too confident about current KL schedule on AMS-MSP (KL flights currently restart at 3x weekly on 8/31 and go to 4x weekly in November). Note that DL has some pretty decent deals from US to Europe in the fall (including hubs like MSP and DTW which usually get excluded) from around $665 roundtrip main cabin ($515 BE), although flights have to depart after 9/5 to qualify. MSP-STR is going for around $765 roundtrip in main cabin on DL metal. Note that only DL metal/DL coded flights over Atlantic qualify for Accelerator promo.

Bit late to the party, but got 34K Main R/T tickets RSW-AMS in October at last week's sale. Also 50K R/T FLL-CDG for Thanksgiving weekend (Still available), seemed like a good way to rack up some MQMs.

I detailed my saga of trying to get a one-way DTW-YVR for an Alaska cruise next spring in the "Delta Pricing Insanity" thread, but the end result warrants a mention here. Both miles and cash pricing were unreasonable for several days in a row, except for the last daily DTW-SEA-YVR option (arriving after 22:00), which I didn't want.

I ended up getting DTW-LAX-YVR (latter segment operated by WestJet) for 32,500 miles. Cash price would have been over $1000, so I guess you could say that's a success at 3 cents per mile, but going by what a reasonable cash price would have been rather than what it actually was, I'd say its more like 1 to 1.3.

JFK-LAX on a 764. 6,500 SkyMiles + $5.60 for main cabin. Got a premium select seat at booking and waitlisted a RUC for D1 which cleared 3 days out. Doesn’t get any better than that for me!

On what date(s) does this route have this aircraft with a Premium Select cabin?

Believe most or all 764s have PS cabins now, but they book into C+ on domestic routes since there are no domestic PS fares.
Checked a number of flights tomorrow and they are showing 4 class 764s.
