Any experience cancelling paid tickets?
how long does value of the ticket take to show up in your delta wallet for future use?

I am considering canceling an existing reservation amd rebooking the itinerary since it is cheaper now.

Also, I believe most of not all Delta fare rules do NOT have a clause that requires you to cancel the reservation before the schedule departure or else lose the value of the ticket.
So even in normal operations you can deal with it afterward if necessary.

Does credit on your ticket include taxes paid?
example 600 ticket (international) with 100 in taxes
Do you get the full 600 as a credit or 500 with taxes removed?

FYI: Not sure if this has been answered but I canceled flights booked with a companion certificate. Agent told me she will just reopen the certificate.

Question about refund:

Part of my itinerary is SEA-AMS on DL144. That flight has been canceled, but DL142 is still on the schedule, and appears to be substituted for my original flight under "Manage My Trips." Once they cancel SEA-AMS completely, does this entitle me to a full refund instead of just a credit?

I had a JFK-LAS-JFK scheduled for 3/20-3/23, using www.delta.com, I cancelled at noon on 3/15, I'll be getting a credit to my cc form of payment.
One side comment I was waitlisted using RUCs,, before CORONA there was only 1 FC seat for sale, as of yesterday there was 1 FC seat occupied , when I cancelled I was within 120 hrs of T-0, even without the RUC, shouldn't my upg to FC have cleared?

If you were booked on DL144 and it cancelled, you’re entitled to a full refund now. You don’t need to wait for DL142 to cancel.

Well now that DL is only flying to LHR from ATL & JFK, it looks like that they are going to have to change and I told them to keep updating their app.
They need to leave now. You need to call. Call with your premium number and do the work for them if you have some pre-research that you can make it efficient. I handled my wife leaving London after the announcement on Saturday (she's British, not American, and we don't yet have our green card) - while I realize you have better immigration circumstances, the policy in the UK for containment is the opposite of the US's. Check Virgin Atlantic for more options, Delta can ticket them as a codeshare if they're running. Have them leave immediately. Don't wait for the app.

I’ve been trying to encourage them to come back early ever since the first travel ban was announced and they keep telling me that they are staying put unless a ban is implemented to not let US Citizens back in. The situation over in the U.K. is much different than here in the US (the U.K. is handling this much worse than the US) and the scene is mostly normal over there right now. I also offered to call using my PM line (I used it to help them apply a Millage upgrade award on this ticket a few months back) but right now they have no plans to return early.

With the announcement tonight that the hotels and casinos in Vegas are shutting down, I decided to finally pull the plug on a trip I had planned on for next week. Got all of my show tickets and hotel cancelled with refunds on the way. I had debated on whether to go ahead and cancel my DL reservation, or wait a bit closer to see if anything gets cancelled that might could allow for a refund instead of a credit.

Playing around on the website I attempted a cancellation and it took me to a "Request Refund" page. This was strange as our tickets were non-refundable F (Z fare). Noticing it declared that all refunds were subject to audit I decided not to proceed as fear my reservation would be cancelled and get lost in the murk with no credit and an eventual denied refund request. Will wait a few days and call in to cancel. I remember reading a post a few days ago someone else saw this strange page and was curious if anyone had any feedback on it? Can't seem to find the original post. Thanks!

A credit, not refund which I believe is what OP wants.

Regardless unless OP needs refund right now simply no-show. Itll then show as a full credit. OP then can request refund due to the cancellation when lines aren't as busy.

Delta Coronavirus / COVID-19 Refunds/Mileage Redeposit/E Credit Q&A - Master Thread

I have a flight on Mar 28 that I need to cancel as my office put all travel on hold. This was booked in Feb. Tried to do it online but the website was charging me cancellation fee of $200. Didn't Delta waived all fees for flights in March and April?

It says that it might initially say its charging you a fee, but will correct that at check-out. Otherwise, I'm sure you can call them in the next few days and have them correct the fee if it still has a problem. They're making good on their fee waivers, even if they're overloaded and their IT is not making it as smooth as would be ideal.
