Thanks for the response and I agree it would be nice to have some kind of spend only option for status. I'm already way past platinum spend but only silver.

Just wrapped up my first-half flying.... pretty happy with the upgrade history.
Ended up going 32 for 36 in upgrades, for 27,980 of 30,351 eligible miles upgrades -- only "long" miss was PHX-MSP, other misses were SLC-LAS (ended up #8 of 38 on the list... lots of Diamonds going to Vegas that week I guess!) and oddly enough JFK-YYZ twice over the last two weeks.
22 of 32 upgrades were at the 5-day window -- only two gate upgrades.

Was just upgraded to FC at the GM window with only 1 seat left on AUS-SLC on Monday. Also got the UG on the SLC-MCO red-eye.

So just under 90% complimentary upgrades, about 92% up front overall.

MSP-PDX, was originally 6th in line at the gate for two seats, however the flight ended up getting delayed a few hours due to the crew being late. FC seats ended up opening as people moved to another flight, ended up 4th in line with four seats open and got the UG.

Just received notice of upgrade on both segments of my flight on Thursday afternoon, but as luck would have it I will be wrapping up my business on Wednesday and was going to attempt to SDC to the early morning flights.
At lease the upgrade process worked even if I won't be using it.

Yesterday I booked RT MSP-SEA for mid to end of July dates and RUCs cleared immediately when I requested them. Even the DL agent was surprised to find the certificate space available for both flights.
