T-96: connecting itinerary showed “UG to F available” on both legs; booked; confirmation showed F cleared on first leg; C+ on second with F requested
T-90: contacted DL via website (I don’t use twitter) with screenshots; got generic email reply: “I regret you did not get First Class seat on your flight. Please know that Complimentary Upgrades are subject to the availability. After reviewing your reservation, I see that First Class seats are not available ... Because of this you have been assigned Delta Comfort+ seat by our system.” ... replied to email with “this is, at a minimum, false and deceptive marketing”
T-72: My Trips showed no change; dummy booking showed “UG to F available” on both legs; emailed screenshots again

4/12 evening MSN-MSP: ^ Cleared at gate (3rd on list, 5 cleared)
4/12 evening MSP-SFO: Took FCM offer of ~$200 a few days in advance since F was pretty full and all C+ and "good" economy seats on 737-900 were gone when this got booked.
4/14 morning SFO-DTW: ^ RUC on original SFO-MSP flight cleared 2 days in advance, rebooked due to travel waiver at T-36 straight into first/RY. There were seats 6 available when I rebooked, 5 available at check-in, and only 1 available at the gate. The no-status guy next to me said he bought the upgrade for $180, but very possible some seats were taken due to SDC/waiver changes from those connecting in MSP.
4/14 afternoon DTW-MSN: Another unfortunate experience with a gate agent in DTW, the second in as many weeks. I was #2 on the list for 0 but counted only 10/12 who boarded with PREM. Hung out until the end and asked if first had boarded full. GA said yes so I boarded and 1C was empty. 5 minutes after getting to my seat 1C was still empty and the app showed 1 available. Then a standby cleared into it immediately before shutting the door. Appeared to be a non-rev given the hug with the front FA. I happened to sit next to #1 back in C+ who also saw what happened. Interesting that he was #1 despite me having used a RUC. Fortunately it was less than an hour flight and I was in the first row of C+ on a CRJ9 which has the most legroom on the plane, but still disappointed by the consistent Delta fails. (EDIT: I would have been (almost) equally happy had #1 been pulled up.)
So overall this trip was 2/3 with one of those assisted by a RUC.

I heard back from customer care... The response indicated they would forward my frustration to the social media team about the misinformation about being on the upgrade list. Then it went on to say: "Regarding the open first class seat, there are several reasons as to why the seat may have remained open during the flight, such as the seat may have been broken or left available for crew rest. However, I sincerely apologize for your experience and your feedback is greatly appreciated." And continued... "Stephen, as a Diamond Medallion SkyMiles member, you're an important part of the Delta family."
My name is not Stephen, and they had my name correct earlier, so I obviously was the recipient of a copy-pasta job here. Not really feeling like I'm an "important part of the Delta family" today. Also no compensation, for what it's worth. Some combination of Shena and poor service is alive and well in DTW.

I definitely don't have that kind of luck as a PM. Last year, a gate agent in JAX told me that, as a %, JAX was #1 in Diamonds (as compared to seats avail) and MKE was #2 in the country. I asked why MKE - and she told me it was due to being an old NW heavy airport. Makes sense.
Just so frustrating - I even have the Reserve card, as that is supposed to be a factor in F upgrades. But I just see nada. Even this Sat, flying TPA/ATL/MKE - no upgrades at the window. Can't even get 'em when I travel as a PM on a Saturday.

DEN-SLC (320): 17th of 25 for 0
SLC-ORD (CR9): 14th of 20 for 1. Flight actually went out oversold by 1, somebody got $660 to go home and fly the next day..
