Delta 777-200ER/LR Conversions to 7HD & 7HB. Pre-mods config is 37J/36W/218Y. For all the ERs and the first LR, post-mods config was initially 28J/48W/220Y (7HD/7HB). The post-mods config for all ERs and LRs is now 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y (7CD/7CB).

Actually 7105 had the C + cabin installed at SIN also...only 7106 had it installed at ATL last month.

7104, N704DK, is scheduled to exit SIN on May 4/5 2019. This will be the last 77W to be modded until the fall, at the end of the summer schedule.

DL41 LAX-SYD plane "7CB"

Slow day at work today ...

from FlightAware

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/...540Z/KLAX/YSSY

The plane type for this and a couple of other flights is "7CB." Obviously it's some variety of 777, but even FlightAware doesn't seem to know what this plane is. Any idea why some of the flights are listed like that instead of B77L? What makes those particular plane(s) special?

Assume it's because not all the LRs have been refurbished and DL is doing something to mark the ones that are refurbed and it's causing FlightAware some confusion

CB stands for 'cargo bird'. Bring your own bean-bag chair.

7CB is Delta's code for the new 4-class 777.

EDIT: Someone beat me to it.

I've merged this into the 777 Delta One Suite refurb thread. Aircraft codes and seat counts by cabin are found in the wiki.

DL shows ALL 4-class cabin converted "trip 7's" as 777-200LRs regardless of whether the aircraft is an LR or ER. Delta also shows any non-converted "trip 7'" aircraft as "777" in their "book a flight" screens. Since all ER's have been completed - there is no distinction between those 8 and the 4 converted LR's as the insides are identical (number of seats), the only difference is the aircraft ranges, the engines, and possibly wing formations (layman's terms). Technical specs will be quite a few more differences. I keep trying to find out how DL is going to re-deploy the ER's and the LR's going forward - I'm finding it quite painful to do so. And, now that the last two routes will be using the new 4 cabin layout sooner than what Delta was going to do (this fall - as opposed to Q1-2020) - These two routes are: ATL-JNB-ATL (which can only be flown by the LR aircrafts) and ATL-PVG-ATL (which will probably continue to be flown by the LR aircrafts - which is what is being used today).

I'm sure DL is on top of it, you probably don't need to worry about it, they know what they're doing

DL needs the 77Ls for it's longest routes which by the end of 2019 will look something like this

ATL-JNB (2 frames)
ATL-PVG (2 frames)
LAX-SYD (2 frames)
JFK-BOM (2 frames)

That takes up 8/10 LR's which the last 2 will probably be used on shorter TATL hops or be as spares. The 8 ER's will more than likely remain on the current ER routes like MSP-HND/ICN and TATL routes like MSP-CDG.

7104, N704DK, exited mods at SIN this morning, May 4th, and is currently ferrying from SIN>NRT>MSP. This is the last 77W to be modded until the end of the summer schedule, sometime this fall, when the remaining six frames will be completed.

2KU on DL 777's

Does anyone know any updates on this? Has DL installed 2KU on any of their 777 fleet or is it still standard?

Delta's press release on the start of JFK-BOM for Dec. '19 referenced satellite wifi with Ku - not 2Ku. AFAIK, the only widebody with 2Ku is the A350 -- and I'm not sure about that.

Can anyone comment on 40A and B in the refurb cabin? Seat map shows it close to a bathroom. Is there a "hallway" light there that might impact sleeping?

I would guess there would be one there. Sleep with your eye shades on which come in your amenity kit!
