Great move to compete with jetblue/mint.

Does UA offer P.S. or Polaris on BOS-SFO?

Wonderful to have more competition on BOS-SFO, but I still don't understand the logic.

Complimentary upgrades have been dropped from both routes.

I fully expect that both AA and UA will have to respond.

Not on a regular basis as of today (there is an occasional one-off) but there have been rumors about UA introducing it forever. Wouldn't be surprised if this pushes them to finally add it.

Hopefully nobody needs amnesty kits here.

Not like they happened before now anyway.

Flights between DCA-LAX and BOS-SFO will be operated as transcontinental flights

Whoa. This seems like a pretty big deal. Kudos to Delta for, again, raising the bar.

Raising the bar for quality, lowering the value of status. I imagine upgrades weren't hard on those routes, but now they're just not allowed.

? Upgrades rarely happened even for DM. Why would you think a transcon BOS-SFO would be an easy upgrade. Or DCA-anywhere.

Big plus on BOS-SFO becoming D1. I wonder how availability will be for mile/RUC upgrades.

I'm surprised they did BOS-SFO only and not BOS-LAX as well.

Same, especially with B6 operating Mint on that route.
