I did notice on some days in January and February DL is putting the 75S on the morning LAX-BOS flight turning the evening BOS-LAX. Morning BOS-LAX is still a 738 though. Maybe this is a test or just a coincidence, DL does send the 75S in sometimes from ATL.

Question is: who cares?

UA's capacity dump in response to DL's limited schedule on the route has been fantastic: low fares, Premium Service, and generous bonus miles for J bookings. Sorry, but I'm not going to lose sleep over DL's or UA's willingness to offer sub $1400 r/t fares on this route. I'm more than happy to save clients in SFO some greenbacks, and have. Almost makes up for the years and years of garbage West Coast service ex-BOS at obscene fares, e.g. 737 F starting at $3,000 plus.

Looks like BOS-LAX is getting B75S aircraft on some of the rotations. Starting 1/9/18 the schedule should look something like this:

Inbound
Daily DL 2531 - Dep. LAX 08:45 -- Arr. BOS 17:33 75S
Sun-F/Daily DL 2532 - Dep. LAX 22:05 -- Arr. BOS 06:44+1 738

Outbound
Daily DL1532 - Dep. BOS 07:20 -- Arr. Lax 10:40 738
Daily DL2533 - Dep. BOS 17:30 -- Arr. LAX 21:20 75S

Starting 4/2/18.....

Inbound
Daily DL 2531 - Dep. LAX 08:45 -- Arr. BOS 17:33 75S
M-F DL829 Dep. LAX 14.00 -- Arr. BOS 22:40 75S
Daily DL 2532 - Dep. LAx 22:05 -- Arr. BOS 06:44+1 738

Outbound
Daily DL1532 - Dep. BOS 07:20 -- Arr. LAX 10:40 75S
M-F DL1338 - Dep. BOS 14:54 -- Arr. LAX 17:34 738
Daily DL2533 - Dep. BOS 17:30 -- Arr. LAX 21:20 75S

SFO flights are still running 2x during peak season, so that means that we are now going to have 4 B75S on all by one of CA TCONS out of Boston, SEA stays 738. I'm a bit confused where these 757s are coming from, but I can't complain, they're the best birds IMO for long routes.

Delta just cancelled their BOS- SFO 7:00 AM (the only non stop each day!) on Dec 25. We were really counting on that flight to get us between our families on opposite coasts!

Not surprising. That flight struggles during peak travel days. I'm sure it's almost empty on Christmas Day.

Sure, but still dissapointing for those of us who were booked on that particular flight! Interestingly enough there was no upgrade space to confirm an RUC that day, so Rev Management must've thought somebody was going to fly!

Speculation: Will AA ever up their game BOS-LAX/SFO?

Has anyone else noticed JFK-SLC-JFK has been seeing 75S planes lately? Perhaps this has been mentioned on FT before but booking a flight(DL2229) for tomorrow was the first time I've seen it. I can't imagine they plan on this being a regular service but I could be wrong.

During the winter and fall, when TATL at a minimum, domestic 75S routes pop-up, ala ATL-JAX/LAS/RSW/MCO flights that show up here and there.

That's cool. I don't live near a coast so I rarely see something different like transcon metal on my flights. Not that I'll be flying up front anyway.

I'm curious to see if UA will step up LAX service to at least match DL; they're down to (I believe) one flight a day. I'm thinking UA largely abandoned the market for financial reasons given the lack of common industries; unlike BOS and SFO. Still, I'll be happy to take advantage of flat-bed seats, additional bonus miles, and fare reductions on this route

I agree, SFO and BOS have much more in common than LAX and BOS. Plus UA has a much stronger operation at SFO than LAX.

This happens off and on through out the year. Had one booked this summer, and another earlier this year. However like normal I then SDC day before to another airport. Despite being booked through SLC multiple times a year, I've yet in all my years flying DL to have actually touched down there.

Plus, BOS - SFO is longer than BOS - LAX.
Primarily because you can connect to more intl routes via LAX. At least on DL metal.

The only international routes that you would need to connect through LAX as opposed to any other hub are SYD and ZIH. Until December, you would also need to go through LAX to get to LIH on DL metal. But, otherwise, you can go through another hub that is closer to BOS. I like to have the domestic flight be as short as possible if I'm going international.
