I am hopeful that , since these meals were from the special meals not the pre-order , that they will be properly noted and onboard. Will be interesting to see if I get a pre-order email .

I also just booked DTW to PEK in D1 (A350 :)) and was curious about the meal selection options; whether to just go with a special meal or wait for the pre-select options to materialize.

Quick question - and I read most of these pages in the thread, but it was like ages ago - if you're flying First Class to South America, do you get to pick your food? Or not yet?

Do you mean northern South America, where business class is like domestic FC, or southern South America with genuine D1 service (but a slightly different wine list including some wines from South America)? Note that D1 is (enhanced) business class, not FC.

Northern South America where it's First Class instead of D1.

I would assume no at this time. Have you looked at the list of routes where preselect is available? I would expect that this will come to northern South America only after it's available on all D1 flights and also the domestic transcons.

I can confirm that the pre-order email is sent three days before the flight (more than 72 hours) very early in the morning, before the start of the business day in ATL time zone.

These are my TATL choices:

Lemon caramelle pasta

Grilled lemon chicken

Potato crusted halibut

Grilled beef tenderloin

Those were exactly the options I received this morning for next week's trip to Brussels.

OK, I guess you can expect corn chowder, lettuce with feta cheese, and some grilled shrimp appetizer as starters. The dessert was some tart-like thing I didn't try, in addition to ice cream sundaes and cheese with fig compote and grapes. Enjoy!

Yes. You were 20 years old.

It is supposedly coming by the end of the year to domestic FC and PS.

Fingers still crossed on this. I've flown AA a few times each of the last couple of years, and as far as I'm concerned, this is one of only three things they have better. Pretty nice knowing what I'm going to eat so I can get some airport food instead! For those that care, I also like that they serve warm nuts before the meal and the warm chocolate chip cookies after the meal!

MSPeconomist Jun 27, 2018 11:46 pm

Really? The nuts on my last flight weren't warm and I never saw the chocolate chip cookie service.

I think the nuts for my MSP-AMS on a 333 were warm then I got the warm chocolate chip cookies served on the return.

Follow Up

Well inside the 72 hour mark for my DTW-ICN - I had selected the Korean Meal via special meals and did not receive a meal selection email

Was referring to my several AA flights the last couple months where that's about all that is better on AA. At least, in my opinion!

Same offerings for my PDX-LHR coming in a few days

By any chance, is meal pre-order available for flights originating at CDG for BOS? Delta metal.
