I assume some will be updated with new interiors and kept for a few more years, while some will be retired with more 737-900's and A321's coming in. If anything I probably see some of the older 757's do some hub-hub flights like ATL-MSP, ATL-DTW, and ATL-JFK.

I would think the remaining 757s will be doing beach markets like LAX - Hawaii, LAX - Mexico, and LAX - Central America.

I'm just curious, why do you hate the Airbus? Is it the barking dog noise or the ghetto interiors.

. I'm a PMDL flyer so Delta fit my needs perfectly. A great network to the places I wanted to fly and not an Airbus in sight.

I never liked how Airbus cheated their way into being a major aircraft manufacturer. Airbus is the creation of three European governments and was financially backed by those governments. Boeing and MD both had to deal with the reality of possible financial ruin and MD ultimately had to face that reality. Airbus never had to deal with such risks or deal with free market principles. A Boeing executive told us during a presentation at my university that the 737 was pretty much the only thing keeping Boeing alive during the 787 design and production. Airbus will never have to deal with such problems. Everyone has their quirks and not flying on any Airbus is one of mine.

If Boeing flopped as badly on a superjumbo as Airbus did with the A380, Boeing would have gone bankrupt. Airbus is different. Luckily, very few routes I fly are on an Airbus, so I can avoid them. I hate them, but for different reasons.

No, I want the DC-9s back. Also, I'll keep the A330s and 747s for international please, not those horrible 767s (including the domestic version). BTW, we had 757s before the merger and all of our A319/320s had 16 FC seats.

I actually prefer the airbus due to the width. While the 757 would be preferred, DL'S new reconfigures basically ruin all of the spacial benefits a 757 had....

16 first class
36 main cabin extra
129 economy
So Delta is somehow managing to put 172 coach seats in compared to AA's 165, even though Delta has an extra row of F.

For one thing, AA maintains a proper bulkhead between F and Y as well as a reasonable amount of legroom in the first row of each cabin. Those decisions account for some of the "wasted" space in the AA configuration.
