So... Is my Business Class ticket a Delta One ticket?

That agent is giving old, stale information. The only flights now that get access are the JFK-SFO/LAX Delta One flights. The other routes listed were not Delta One, but did provide for lounge access until around the beginning of the year. You are not on a Delta One route. The column heading in your screenshot says Delta One/First which means it could be one or the other (but not both). Note the individual flight selections say "First", not "Delta One". If this were a Delta One route, it would say Delta One next to each flight selection instead of First. If you search for a JFK-SFO or JFK-LAX trip, you will see the difference.

Yes. As SkyTeam Elite+ you and one guest have access to an Air France departure lounge at CDG. Unless the Salon Lounge is a special one with which I'm unfamiliar.

I would be more annoyed that the quoted response contains outdated info re: access on a transcon ticket per LBJ's post above and as stated here

Let's not open the next can of worms about DL's definition of International for the purpose of SC access.

+1

That's the exact same response I received. I did pursue the issue relentlessly and was eventually given a free day pass after the fact.

I just upgraded our tickets on Delta from Economy to Business for our June flight from JFK to PDX (nonstop). I was hoping for lounge access. This policy is certainly not clear and I was granted access to the T4 Delta Sky Club in October 2014 for a nonstop flight from JFK to SEA (Used miles).

SeatGuru describes the seats on this 757 as Delta One.

Glad to know this in advance - evening PDX flights seem to depart from T2 anyway.
The phone agent that canadiantransplant spoke with is wrong: JFK-PDX is not D1 service. The only domestic D1 flights are the nonstop JFK-LAX/SFO and vv transcons.

In the past, there was a list of about a half dozen additional nonstop transcons to and from JFK that were also entitled to lounge access in FC or business class, but this policy has changed.

.....or the fact that there are some international routes that are marketed as business but not D1, such as northern South America, unless this has changed again too. They're basically like domestic FC (and have the same upgrade rules, although they do get lounge access).

Yep, although I think part of OP's confusion was that the website still listed JFK-PDX as having access at the time. That has now been corrected and at least the website no longer mentions the JFK-SEA/PDX/SAN/PHX/LAS/DEN routes as providing access.

Bottomline, just because an aircraft has Delta One seating or a 'J'/business fare class assigned to it (J/C/D/I/Z) does not make the flight a "Delta One" flight with lounge access.

I don't think one of LAS or PHX ever had lounge access. I remember a discussion about how strange it was that one of these places was excluded but DEN, which isn't nearly as far, was included.

Both LAS and PHX received access. It was SLC that was excluded (even though it is further west than DEN). Presumably due to having a significant population of hub-hostage's that DL did not feel they had to compete for their business.

Hello all,
Quick confirmation. Wife and I are traveling DCA-LHR through DTW in J. I have an SC membership but my wife does not. Would we just have access to the lounge at DTW or also at DCA? Any DTW lounge recommendations? We will honestly probably just get dinner but thought I'd check. Thanks!

You can use the SC at DCA and any/all SCs at DTW. There's also an arrival lounge arrangement at LHR: IIRC Yotel or take the tube to the other DL terminal for the DL arrivals lounge. You should get an email from DL about LHR arrangements.

The SC at the center of the A terminal at DTW is the largest and is likely to be closest to your gate for LHR. It also has the longest hours, but if it seems crowded or noisy, you could take the red overhead train to the SC on either end, but watch for early closing and weekend hours.

There should be substantial F&B in all SCs, including two kinds of soup.

I'd plan on enjoying the D1 dinner that will be served soon after takeoff, with orders being taken by the purser during boarding. Don't eat dinner in the airport.

Thank you so much for the information. I didn't get any info from DL on an arrivals lounge but that's good to know. Last time we flew VS so we used their Arrivals Lounge. This time we don't get in until after 12pm so will probably just head straight into town. Thanks again. I agree, probably better off waiting to eat on the plane. I've had plenty of meals in DTW over the years and can live without one more!

If you must eat at DTW, IMO the best choices are the wine bar for snacks or the Westin (outside of security). There's also a sushi place that people seem to like.
