Do you actually travel for work? In a normal travel week, I spend $500 on a flight, $400 on rental car, $400 on a hotel and $200 on food/entertainment. That's $1500 per week of travel all on the Delta AMEX. So if you just traveled two weeks a month, that's more than $25k. It's not irresponsible, it's actually traveling for work and being smart enough to stick to a single credit card.
BTW, you need a better deal with the rental car companies if you are spending that much. |

How about the following situation:
On Orbitz I buy a ticket BOS-AMS-BOS that has the KL codeshare numbers. The flight is operated by DL however. Do I get MQD or not? |

I think you have just solved one big mystery here.
Why did DL actually give us plenty of advance notice of the MQD change? Answer: So UA/AA would have time to respond. |

I can't wait until UA announces this as well...they tried last year. Now, there is no reason not to. Then, AA will follow. Finally!

Yes, i understand that i'm not affected ( but still wait for clarification ) but want to throw in that in nearly all european countries DL has no direct sales agents anymore, everything is done by AF/KL. If i can't book a slightly complicated ticket on dl.com ( just happend 10 days ago ) you will have to call AF here in europe and ending up booking your trip on non 006 ticket stock. Maybe the AF/KL ticket agents ( both airport based and phone ) in europe and the middle east will be able to produce tickets on 006 stock in the future if requested by the customer?
Bubba, I am still waiting for a more substantial "proof" on your claim that KLM.com booked, KLM-operated, AND, KLM-ticketed flights show up in 006-stock. Or should I just assume that you

If its issued on 006 stock yes. If its 074, doesn't sound like it. Other area of possible confusion in this case would be for MQMs. Those normally earn based on the flight number, so if its KL then you'd earn on the KL chart.

My complaint with the M fares not earning the 50% bonus is you have to have an M fare for international SWU's or mile upgrades. If Delta allowed lower fare buckets to be used for those I wouldn't have an issue with this change. Seeing you have to buy such an expensive fare in coach for the SWU's/Miles the 50% bonus helped a lot.

I am so pleased! Last year I earned almost 101k MQMs with about 2500 in spending. So I almost cried when I saw the news... Until I read about the Amex waiver. I spent 90k on the reserve last year.
Maybe I should start mileage running now. I guess my title should now be DYKWIAIASALVMWAS. "Do you know who I am; I am a low value medallion with Amex spending " |

Look at your quoted text. It is impossible to read that and not know that "also" is referring to something you are working hard at omitting.
MQDs are the total of the SkyMiles member’s spend on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code), inclusive of the base fare and applicable surcharges, but exclusive of government- imposed taxes and fees. Flight spend for travel on other airlines ticketed through a Delta channel (featuring a ticket number beginning with “006”) will also be included in MQDs. |

Look, right from the Delta website:
I am NOT saying you only earn MQD for flying on Delta. However, if you fly on a partner it must be ticketed through DL on 006 stock or you don't get MQDs. See the "featuring a ticket number beginning with 006" part? If you purchase a ticket through KL and get a 074, you don't get MQDs. I do appreciate, however, that you attempted to correct your post and trust that you will do so again. |
I don't understand why DL is not factoring all spend into this threshold stuff. I know most elites don't spend much on bag fees, but if I'm buying wi-fi, SkyClub entries, change fees, economy comfort, food and bet. . . that stuff adds up. I guess they would argue if you put it on your DL AX card it does count.
