I think the size of the 767 monitor is limited by the space available in the seat. I think the monitor is more than adequate for that particular seat and configuration.

Is the 330 J refit new news? I don't recall hearing that before. Intl J inventory is going to take another hit, but the product upgrade is welcome.

Sounds like some of the ex-NW 753s are going to lose the foot cut-outs. That could put some additional F seats on the avoid list.

Announced back in February 2011:

http://news.delta.com/index.php?s=43&item=1259

"....In addition to investing in the international Economy cabin, Delta today announced it now plans to install 34 horizontal flat-bed BusinessElite seats with direct aisle access in each of its 32 Airbus A330 aircraft by 2013...."

How so? The new-config A330s will have 34 BE seats; today's A333 has 34, while the A332 has 32 (so it will be an increase of 2 BE seats on each of the 11 A332s).

Yes, it has been shocking the neglect for 747 Y class comfort on the Domestic airlines. Kudos to Delta for making upgrades to this ultra-long haul aircraft.

So will the A330's be getting the same BE seats as the 767 have now?

No, I believe the A330 BE seats should be very similar if not the same as the reverse herringbone ones on the 747s.

Several carriers have installed the DL 767-type BE flatbed seats on their A330s (LX, AY, SN) and the config is not all 1-2-1, but rather 1-2-1 and then 2-2-1 the next row, etc., which means not every seat would have direct aisle access...

They must be taking out some Y seats for the A330 mods (or adjusting Y pitch or closet/galley space). My impression is that the A330s are getting the same seats as the 747s, which means that the US and CX A330s are good examples of what to look for. It appears you can only get 28 of the Cirrus J seats ahead of 2L on a A330-300, since that's all CX or US has up there. On the A330-200, US is the only benchmark, and they've got 20 ahead of 2L. It looks like maybe another 8 could go behind 2L without removing Y seats, but that still puts you short of 34.

Nice!!! Will both the 333s and 332s have 34 seats in Business Elite? And will DL eventually stop flying the 752s across the Atlantic Ocean or refit the aircraft with flat seats in BE?

Thanks for the update, Chris.

Contractual obligations? Note that DL put in the orders for the new BE seats on the 767s and 777s years ahead of the 744 and 330 seats . . . before it ate up NW. Back at that time, I bet the costs for large monitors were way more expensive than now. Back at that time, the 777 seats were revolutionary . . . then came more competition.

752 Lie Flats...Anyone

Chris
Thanks for the update, can't wait for the new 737s. Until then, I am stuck on an intl route that has 752s, with no rumors about 764s for us. Any chance you will put lie-flats on the 752s like the other airline with the first letter twice has on their route from here to the US?

Thanks!

All passengers will have access to a library of 1,000+ on demand entertainment choices. The Economy seats feature an articulating seat pan for additional knee clearance and we’ve added extra foam padding for more comfort and a winged, four-way adjustable headrest.
Thanks for the update Chris!

Any word on dates for the A330 flat-bed seat installations?

Zodiac Aerospace 6810. It's the same seat currently flying on the MD88 and MD90. However the cushion and cover will be upgraded.

Thank you,

I wouldn't characterize it as off the table; we've got several other major projects in the works that we'll announce in the near future.
