Not really that bad, considering the upgrade list on these is always at least 80 deep.

Tempting.

Yup, even as a DM it's giving me SEA-ATL for $222

Wait listed RUC won't clear but they'll take the cash...figures

T-18 days, still seeing $239/22300 miles ... son and I are on an AmEx companion fare; the (highly unauthoritative) seat map shows 14 unclaimed J seats on the 764, and Mrs767 is lobbying me to snag one for her since she’s a non-Medallion on a separate PNR

Data point. I had that exact offer on ATL-SEA for a Sunday afternoon flight last month. I didn’t take it because I have three RUCs about to expire and hoped to use one on this leg. It didn’t clear; all the seats sold.

Good to know. Mine is on a middle of the week day and there was RUC space on it, but by the time I booked it was gone (same # of seats for sale, just the OY space went away)

Worse case I'll SDC but I'm not paying DL another penny :)

Not surprised with yours being a Sunday as that is a very busy day especially for cross country travel when an entire day can be gobbled up just for travel

first time ever considering a DL upsell. Flying SEA-LAX on a saturday morning and the current offer is $119/11.1k-miles. Is this considered a good offer? Will it get cheaper closer to departure? This booking is an award for 7.5k miles.

Just bought two roundtrips for next year that have the new JFK-BOM flights as part of the itinerary in each direction

For one PNR, I am getting an offer to move to D1 from a V fare in Main Cabin for $799 - in both directions. Dirt cheap given how long the flight is and how cheap my economy fare was. There's also GUC space in each direction so will probably use that. No PS offers on this PNR.

Another PNR, a month later, same original Main Cabin fare, but this time, no D1 offers, just a $544 PS offer (again, offered for both directions).

What are they smoking to do $799 for a 16 hour flight in refurb 777 but want more than that for SEA-JFK? Plus, who would pay $544 for PS for such a long flight but not cough up the extra ~$250 for D1?

Out of curiosity, how much was your original fare (or what's the new total of your r/t ticket)?

The original Main Cabin (V) fare was less than $400 RT all in.

If I bought the D1 $799 upgrade in each direction, the ticket total would be less than $2,000.

That's the India market for you. There's a reason why DL hasn't flown to India for almost 10 years.

If I flew out a day later the Main Cabin fare was $2800. My guess is, the D1 offer of $799 would still be there to buy up.

NRT - SEA : no offer to D1 (from Premium Select)
SEA - DEN : $74 to F (from Comfort+). I find it cheap and took it, since they serve a meal.

J is wide open on the first PNR, so they're selling it cheap. It's apparently a lot less available on the second, so they aren't selling it at all. So your statement about "extra ~$250" is meaningless because that price isn't offered.

Both RTs in both directions have exactly 1 DL1 seat selected on the seat map. Every other single seat is available.

Its not meaningless because its relative - for the same flight length and city pairs (albeit different dates), a small difference in price but a huge difference in comfort and sleep quality.

I would take that offer without hesitation. I just paid $300 for a 4.5 hour domestic flight. That’s above my normal limit, but I didn’t have a good seat in economyand didn’t want to risk being stick there.

It's not an "extra ~$250" because there's no way to pay that money to get the D1 seat. I don't know why; maybe they don't FCM D1 that flight that far out, maybe they expect to sell more, maybe they want to see how well the FCM for the earlier flights do before setting the price.
