Is there any kind of FlexPerks Shopping Mall to earn extra points?

kyushuman Mar 27, 2017 8:23 pm

Odd question but what are some good ways to use the $25 credits?
I'm flying this Friday:

MSP-AMS-CDG
CDG MSP

I am DL Gold so have lounge access and baggage for free. Alcohol is free in flight, too.
How else can I spend the $25?
Thanks!

Many of us buy airline GCs (i.e. from Delta.com) on one of the travel dates.

If I buy a 25.00 Southwest GC on the day of departure, will I have to call to get the credit or is it automatically credited?

You must call or send secure message. At least on my last three that's what I had to do.

Received response from them that Walmart, Target, etc is not going to count, even if it codes as a grocery store. Trying 7-11 right now, see if it's going to give me 2x (it does for other Visa cards)

Does anyone know what booking engine flexpoints is using now? Have a $200 difference between an FP ticket price and Orbitz/Expedia.
Cheers

Orbitz, but such differences in price are not uncommon and I have no idea why they can't code their website to show Orbitz prices if they are supposed to use Orbitz ...

I followed your advice but the minimum Gift Card is $50 on delta.com.
Should I buy for $50 and try to claim back $25? Sounds a bit riskier than a simple $25 charge. Thoughts? Flight is in 10 hours so I'll take any ideas. If not, it's only $25 so not a big deal but might as well get what I can :D
Thanks!

That's exactly what I've always done and will be doing later today.

Yes, I've done that w/ AA and gotten the reimbursement.

Also FYI to all: I had multiple flexperks tickets traveling together and was able to get $75 single charge reimbursed via secure message. $75 = 3 baggage charges of $25 each or single GC charge. :D

Thanks! I will try that. Bought a $50 today and will call when I get back.

You can send a secure message saying you spent $50 in baggage fees and are requesting your $25 credit. I did it that way and mine posted within a week of the SM.

Interesting as a CSR claims "they pull prices straight from the airline". I don't think it's a hard question to answer why they can't pull the same prices. Feel like this maybe something to take up with the CFPB.

I just made a few redemptions to clear out my account before closing both of my flexperks cards. Got tired of having to fight with USB every time I tried to get $25 credits or bonus miles to post.

Too bad...these used to be easier to deal with!
