Has anyone been tempted by the 500 pt bonus for activating Real-Time Rewards? I'd like the bonus, but getting a text every time I buy something (at the selected categories) sounds like a major annoyance. So far, I'm thinking I will pass on this offer.

I only get the text once a month when an automated contribution to a nonprofit organization hits.

I set it up for purchases over $500 at movie theatres. Needless to say, I never get texts. I did get the points.

So I know that there is a waver if you have a ckg acct with US bank to wave the annual fee on the AMEX flexperks. Slthough none of the csr can see to recall or find any info on it, typical for us bank cs.
BUT is there a waver on the AMEX cc af is you have the biz cc? or on the flexperks visa cc?
thanks!

Isn't that waiver only for cards targeted originally? It comes with a smaller signup bonus right?

Greetings. I have a question that maybe some of you Flexperks experts could help me with.

I want to book a roundtrip ticket to Mexico City with my Flexperks points. Normally when I book an award ticket, I pay for the fees with my CSP so trip insurance covers the ticket. However, all of the fees are included with the flexperks redemption. What can I do to cover myself here in case I need to cancel a trip for an emergency? I know trip insurance doesn't cover reward tickets. Are there any other options out there?

I'm currently kicking myself for booking an AA flight with FlexPerks, as it will be delayed 3+ hours. If I'd used Prestige, I'd have benefits. I know to never expect AA flights to be on time, so I need to just use FlexPerks for other airlines.

Two things:
1. There are multiple companies who do offer insurance for award flights.
2. Tickets booked with FlexPerks aren't award travel. The regular fare is paid with a credit card (just not the cardholder's). It's not even a "special fare" for airlines like AA (which is the case when booking with TYP and some other reward currencies). So if you want to buy travel insurance, just proceed as if it's a traditional fare.

Very interesting. This could be very helpful. Thanks!

My only concern now is how the redepositing of the Flexperks points would be handled. I know Flexperks says there is a small fee for redepositing. Would travel insurance cover that? Or would I just get a check in the mail? This program can be very confusing haha.

I'm presuming they would deduct the equivalent of $200 in points for a change fee. Good question to ask them.

Will do. Thanks for your help.

Not sure about you exact situation, but a few years ago I cancelled a portion of a flight booked with Thank You points (no fees, flights was severely delayed, and the airline gave me the option to cancel.) The cash value of the flight was refunded to the travel agency that works with TY points. I had to give them a call to hunt down the refund, but eventually I got a check for what that portion of the flight had cost. In either case, I'd recommend giving the folks at flexperks a call.

And you can always get maximum value out of flexperks if your intention is to use them on Southwest flights.

When do rewards post? Only when the statement cycle hits? I've made a large charge to a charity as an initial purchase on this card, but I'm still seeing 0 rewards.

Those who have the Visa that gives you 12 gogo passes per year, can you explain how it works?

Sign in at http://flexperkspromos.usbank.com to claim them, which puts them into your Gogo account. They expire 12 months after activation.
