Also signed up for their checking account recently. TU score of 820, which I think is where they pull from. Only 1 recent new account showing on the TU report.

Just thought I'd share a positive experience:
I called US Bank on July 27th to request my $50 baggage reimbursement. ($50 because the travel itinerary was a pair of flexperks reward tickets) I saw the $50 credit on my visa on August 3rd, about five weeks sooner than I was expecting it! ^^^ |
Just a warning that U.S. Bank can close your card at any time and force you to forfeit all your points. They did this to me after I hadn't used the card in a year or two.

Looks as though US Bank pulled my Eqifax report instead of TU. My Equifax report shows 5 new accounts in the last 6 months and 8 inquiries in 2 years. FICO score of 810. Had expected them to pull TransUnion instead. Feeling like the freeze on IDA and SageStream might not have helped at all. But it's only been 2 days so we'll see. Really want those extra Olympic FlexPerks ... |

Helps with the monthly fee on the gold checking I opened last week to get the $150 bonus. Hopefully the $50 CC bonus applies too in addition to the FlexPerks Olympics bonus. Today's a good day. |
Thinking of applying with the Olympics bonus…does anyone know if having an existing relationship helps/hurts your chances? I have a Club Carlson card I want to cancel, but I don't know if I should do it before/after applying. Thanks!

when I use their search engine it doesn't give me a choice for "economy plus" only economy and business ? Is their a way to book economy plus?

Oh, happy FlexPerks month!
My experience started last fall when I applied for the Signature card without knowing about freezing any reports. It took nearly two weeks before I got a call verifying my identity, as they were concerned the IP on my application was from another state (I was out of town when I applied). A week or so later, I instead received the (now discontinued) Select+, as would often happen to people who applied for the Signature and had too many "issues" with those alternate bureaus. I waited a few months, froze the recommended files, and applied for the (also now discontinued) Amex. Bingo! Closed the Select+ and have been enjoying the Amex for five months. When the current $150 + $50 promo launched, I wanted to apply for the Signature (mainly for the Gogo passes) but was concerned that it might again drop me down to Select+, which would mean I'd miss the $50 entirely since that card was a product I'd already had. I played it safer and went for the Amex Gold, which really wasn't a bad idea anyway since the signup bonus is excellent and totally worth the AF. That was on 08.03. I discovered late last week that I was approved, when it appeared in the app. Throwing caution to the wind (and realizing that the Select+ was finally discontinued along with the possibility of receiving a different product than the one I wanted), I applied for the Signature before actually receiving the Gold Amex in the mail. Yes, I wanted some Olympic FlexPerks! This morning, the Signature appeared in the app!! I also reconfirmed that there was not another hard pull for this card for which I'd applied ten days after the first. ^ |
For some new USBank FlexPerks cards, the haul from the Olympics should be 14,800 bonus points (46 gold @ 200, 37 silver @ 100m and 38 bronze @ 50). This requires an application for a new card by September 3 with a first purchase by September 30. In addition, you can get 20,000 welcome bonus points by spending $2000 within the first four months.
