I have the HSBC World Elite card which I'm considering canceling. With the latest update you need to book through the portal to get any type of credit back. However, it's my only non AMEX card currently. I guess I can apply for the World card. If only HSBC can support a PC.

That's my guess as well. But how about this one:

Sorry for the confusion. I guess there was a rebrand. I thought the $395/yr card (the one I have) was called World Elite Mastercard while the complimentary card for Premier members was just called World Mastercard.
I have the earlier linked Elite Mastercard. It was decent (but nothing special) before the devaluation. Now it’s an 5% card in chunks when you book through their portal which is Priceline. I guess I can call in about downgrading to the complimentary Premier card. |
Just got this email.
"... it’s been awhile since you’ve used your HSBC Premier credit card ending in xyz. We’d like to welcome you back with a special offer just in time for holiday shopping. Use your HSBC Premier credit card and get a $25 Amazon eGift card when you spend $250 or more on new purchases by December 31, 2021.1 No enrollment necessary. All you have to do is use your card." Easy enough. |
30% bonus for transfers to Avios (BA or Iberia) through end of April on the US HSBC MC.

Wow, a whole new slate of transfer partners and rates just popped up.
Aer Lingus/British Airways/Iberia Avios - 1:1 Qatar Avios - 1.25:1 Accor Live Limitless (ALL) - 2.5:1 Avianca Lifemiles - 1.25:1 EVA Air Infinity MileageLands - 1.25:1 Air France/KLM Flying Blue - 1.25:1 Qantas Frequent Flyer - 1:1 TAP Miles&Go - 1:1 Turkish Miles&Smiles - 1.25:1 Wyndham Rewards - 1.25:1 Is Doctor of Credit on here to tag? |

fyi for those that care I learned after speaking with CS today that authorized cardholders must provide SS# - which means non-citizens cannot be added as auth cardholders for HSBC premiers' cc's. I know many banks do the same, but not all.
|
Another random DP in case someone googling picks this up.
Points earned on former HSBC Advance Mastercards (which for some people like me, have been auto transitioned to new HSBC Premier cards), still are not able to be transferred to either one's Premier or World Elite accounts, nor are they able to be transferred to partners. It seems that the system still recognizes that those points earned were with the now-demised Advance card, despite your account now being a product where points earned CAN be transferred to partners. I tried doing this pre-new transfer partners, and now post, and I keep getting error messages. When I contacted them pre, that was the explanation given, which make sense, which is surprising with them... |

The new transfer partners are definitely appreciated. It seems odd that BA is 1:1 and Qatar is 1.25:1. Meanwhile you can transfer BA Avios to Qatar Avios 1:1.

Thank you. I have updated the Wikipost post. The list is curiously similar to Capital One's transfer partners, but the ratios are not the same.
Qatar - 1.25:1 Accor (ALL) - 2:1 Emirates - 1:1 |
