Read post 844 for tips on being approved for the business card.
It may be easier to get approved for a new business with 0 years and $0 gross income.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Business card Recon Line:
April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)
866-695-6598 (8-7pm EST M-F)
Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.

Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

Funny, I actually tried the dummy booking yesterday, but I guess I didn't go far enough into the process to get the $100 offer.
Please tell us how you got the $100 offer to work. I still get an error message when I click on the link for it on the wiki.

Thanks.

I did just exactly what sdsearch suggested.

can you apply for both business and personal alaska card at the same time? Is it a single pull? and is it better to apply using EIN or SSN?

It is better to apply in such a way that you can provide documentation on everything you say in your business card application. More than most other banks, BofA tends to demand various documentation about your business if you claim things about your business. Ie, if you give a name other than your name, be prepared to furnish a legal fictitious name registration document. If you claim business income, be ready to provide business income tax forms. If you provide a business address, be ready to supply copies of utility bills verifying that address. Etc.

They don't always ask for this, but often enough, that you should be prepared. Too many people in this thread had to abandon their business card application after BofA asked them for documents they couldn't provide.

Thanks. This did not work for me trying to book a miles award flight on a partner airline. But it did work for me today booking a domestic flight on Alaska metal for cash and not logging into my Alaska Airlines account. I was required to tell them whether or not I am a Bank of America customer. I am, and told them so. This allowed auto fill on some of the fields on the application.

The offer appeared on the last page before actually paying for the flight.

Has anyone booked airfare with another credit card (CSR) and been able to receive the free checked bag from having the Alaska Airlines credit card? The website seems to state it is possible, but wanted to check to see if anyone can speak from experience.
"Who is eligible for the first checked bag free benefit?
Eligible Alaska Airlines Visa® primary consumer credit cardholders:
If you are the eligible primary Alaska Airlines Visa® cardholder on the account, have entered your Mileage Plan™ number into your reservation, and are traveling on Alaska Airlines, we will waive the first checked bag fee for you and up to 6 additional passengers on the same reservation. "

It doesn't matter which card you pay with. You're good.

Follow up question: Have you actually done this before and can vouch that it works? Or are you saying it's good to go based on the terms from the Alaska airlines website?

AS somehow just know you are a BOA AS credit card holder when you checked in -i think it is noted in their system next to your passenger profile

so you dont have to pay for the ticket using BOA AS, nor do you have to bring your AS credit card and show 'proof', to receive the checked bag privilege.

very surprised myself the first time, but glad it is and has always been seamless like this.

Wouldn't hurt to have the card on you at the airport. My AS-operated award flight was changed last minute to a VX-operated one and the check-in agent wanted to charge the bag fee. He was able to waive it once I showed him the credit card. Award ticket fees/taxes were paid with a non-AS CC.

has anybody 'churned' the business card tied to the CD? Mine has been open about 8 months -- what if I close the card, and while the CD is still open, so in 3 months or so, apply for business card again, and try to tie it to the same CD again? Does anybody know if this works? Since approval is not really an issue if one goes the CD route, it would more be a question if there are any anti-churning restrictions.

I don't have an answer to the above post but I am interested in whether it is better/easier to churned AS personnel or business cards?
