Read post 844 for tips on being approved for the business card.
It may be easier to get approved for a new business with 0 years and $0 gross income.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Business card Recon Line:
April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)
866-695-6598 (8-7pm EST M-F)
Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.

Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

I did not reduce credit lines on either when closed and converted. In fairness, at the time I remember it being recommended that you keep some sort of relationship with BoA. Anyway, I didn't decrease the credit limit until February of this year, where it currently sits at $1K. Is that enough time for the credit line(s) to have been restored? Just for some additional information, I have not opened any other BoA cards since and this is only the second attempt ever at opening up new Alaska personal and biz cards (I do have a legitimate business as well). In addition, and I have no idea if this means anything, but there's a "special offer" to apply for a personal Alaska card when I login to my BOA online banking. Anyway, just curious if anyone thinks applying for both now may be problematic or if I should wait longer.
I can't tell what you actually did, because you mixed up card names. Thank You Rewards cards are only available from Citi, not BofA, so it is impossible to convert an Alaska card to a Thank You Points card.

Anyway, credit limit you reduce manually has sometimes taken a few months in the past, but from Feb to July should certainly be long enough.

You're right. I mixed up the card names. It was the Cash Rewards card. What about the 10 months on the Biz card where I closed it outright? Or will that not matter as much? Obviously I know that getting approved for the Sig card is a much bigger deal as I think I should get approval on the biz card. It's been agonizing since being approved earlier (went to pending before it went to approval) without knowing what the credit limit is. Sucks that it seems like I'll have to wait until Monday.

A follow-up to this. Called in and was approved with a credit line of $18K on the personal card, so no issues at all there for the Signature card (thankfully).

Applied for the biz card today and went to pending. Called in and they requested 2 years of tax returns for my business. Not a huge deal since I have a legitimate business, but certainly an annoyance having to go into those returns and delete out certain pages. It's been submitted now though.

Data point: rejected online, rejected during recon for too many new accounts w/BOA + other banks and 'lack of deposit accounts with BOA'

Did AOR in November 2017, 2x citi, 1x BOA (Premium rewards), 1x Amex, 1x Barclay, 1x WF; previous BOA was Alaska in April '17 (AOR for 4 cards), last BOA before that was Alaska in 2016.

So I fall within the 2/3/4 but apparently they didn't like the AOR in November... bummer

Haha, congrats.

I did not value gammie for who she was for a long time, and now when I visit, she gives me lumps of coal with an occasional cookie here and there.

Not sure if it's just me or not, but I have tried calling the biz recon line multiple times today and it just rings off the hook. A temporary thing perhaps?

I'm not sure, but there are some BofAm recon. numbers listed in the wiki of the thread below; maybe one of these would work - or they could redirect you from there.

Bank of America Reconsideration?

It's working now again. Not sure what was happening earlier.

Annoyed right now. Called the business recon line and I was denied for the biz application. I actually have a legitimate business and have never been denied for a business card before.

Anyway, I was told that the reason for denial was twofold. 1.) The business hasn't been established for long enough. I did switch from a sole proprietorship to a corporation this year, but there's been no change in revenue or anything. But they claim they view it as a new business so it doesn't matter. 2.) That I didn't have any deposit accounts with BoA although it was claimed that this wasn't necessarily the reason I was denied but rather they couldn't verify with my accounts if I could cover the expenses or not. I also provided two years of tax returns at their request (which I thought was a bit crazy to begin with). Also, this was only my second application with BoA (first business) in the last 22 months (just got the personal AL card a week ago but no other BoA applications).

For the BoA experts, is there anything I can do to push this application through? Or am I screwed? It doesn't seem like the recon people can overturn anything, although I've never called the credit analyst line and not sure if that makes a difference or not.

DP on personal AS card

Applied for the AS personal card a couple days ago & after 20 - 30 seconds up pops a screen asking me some personal questions to verify my identity. Asked for: Mortgage amount; car license plate #; and previous address and mortgage holder. Much easier than calling in. ^

Anyone else had this experience?

Just did it two nights ago. Make sure you don't log in and go all the way to the pymt. page.
