Current welcome offer is 50,000 30,000 Crystal points with $5,000 $3,000 spending in the first 90 days. First annual fee not waived. (as of telephone call with bank employee 8/7/2019)

Past bonuses were:

***** #1502 - signup bonus 1/16/18 BUT ANNUAL FEE NOT WAIVED ******

100,000 points after spending $5,000 in first three months. Offer expires 30 December 2015. EXPIRED

A 70,000 points offer was offered back in March 2017 and expired March 31st, 2017. EXPIRED

The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.

Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.

The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Register your card for online access (cno.cnb.com). This changed on Sept 19 2019.
Register separately for the award page (www.cnbrewards.com).
Register for Visa Infinite info and access at https://myvisainfinite.com/cnb/en_us/home.html
Click "my info" to see details on points awarded.
Best* redemption found to date is $1,000 prepaid visa for 105K pts. It's now 125K pts for a $1,000 prepaid visa. Link to catalog
*(other than spending for flights etc. & getting 1.2 cents each in value)

I read through the card benefits for the downgraded card and it gives you a few valuable perks considering it's a no AF card; Primary Rental Car Insurance, Extended Warranty & Price Protection

I completely agree that they nuked the card values here, BUT i don't know of any other personal, no-AF card that provides Primary Rental Car Insurance

EDIT:
Re-read the benefits and looks like it only provides supplemental insurance, not primary. So definitely not as exciting

Drats! I guess this means that I need to keep the Crystal for another year, as we were looking to book a high-end safari using a good chunk of our points, which we wouldíve needed the concierge for. I hate to pay $400 for a card that I only charged about $10,000 to this year, but it is what it is. We donít dare book anything for next summer until we are vaccinated for COVID.

But you can still redeem points with the Visa Signature through their website correct? You just can't call in to redeem?

Are folks still buying AA eGC with this card? Looks like AA is losing lot of money and might close soon. In that case, would we all lose all eGCs we accumulated? This card is turning out to be more useless by the day.

American isnít going anywhere. They could possibly do a chapter 13 at some point to restructure debt but the airline will not cease to exist.

sure the airline might continue to exist, but question is will our eGCs be worthless when American files for bankruptcy protection?

Goodbye GroundLink Benefit

Goodbye GroundLink Benefit:

Did anyone else notice that the GroundLink Benefit was quietly removed from the City National Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card Guide to Benefits?
Isn't CNB abrogated to send written notice of any changes to programs?

Has anyone had issues redeeming points for flights on the rewards website? I keep getting this error: We’re sorry. There’s been a problem with your booking. Please contact us at 1-855-853-5496 so we can help you resolve this issue.

Edit: never mind, it was because the pre-populated zip code was incorrect (had an extra 0).

so this is funny: i closed my CNB credit and bank accounts, but they still include me in some marketing focus groups, which give me random itunes, googleplay, or amazon credits each month. i wonder how long this will continue, so far I've gotten surprising value out of that!

Called today to downgrade to the Signature with $0 AF (no downside and better for credit score to keep large line open). CSR sent request to my personal banker and advised they will send a form. So those going this route may not want to wait to last minute.

Now moving on to other card cancellations as no reason to pay AFs when there are no travel benefits...

Addendum: Downgrade successful. No real benefits on $0 AF card and 3% forex fee.

Getting ready to unload this card...

Got 90,000 points. Is Amazon still the best way to redeem? I see $100 GC for 11,000 points...so I order 8 at once (or do I do it one by one)? Hope there is no limit on the number of GCs!

Not that it matters much these corona days...but how long does it take before Priority Pass is notified?
