This card does not provide any lounge access. Confusion with Priority Pass may be one reason for the name change. Citi removed Priority Pass as a benefit of the Chairman and Prestige cards when Priority Pass eliminated access to CO/UA lounges.
Oh.. yes I know. I got off topic in my own thread... I was just wondering why he didn't rank that one in his miles section. I have one and think it's pretty good if you fly a lot of miles. Not many cards give you 2 points per $ on everything AND more on some things.

mia, thanks a lot for pointing that out. I have removed Citi ThankYou Prestige from the lounge page. I will also update my review on TY Prestige in a while. I was following that thread regarding the changes Citi made to TY Prestige and was sitting on it since I wanted more information and then I forgot about it!

IMHO, Ameriprise is the best of the bunch. Also note that it has been reported here many times that your authorized user will also get his/her own Priority Pass Select - a great deal while it lasts!

If you are interested please follow that thread:

Fidelity PC Amex is actually open to everyone i believe. If you are a private client, your annual fee will be waived though.

I actually have Citi ThankYou Premier on my Top List, but under "Cash Back Equivalent Cards". This may not make sense to everyone. But my logic is that since TY points have fixed value, I would like to separate it from miles/points cards that are associated with airlines/hotels since the value is somewhat uncertain and subjective.

The Chase Ink Bold participates in a form of Priority Pass, but I have not looked into the details of the membership. Off the top of my head, I think it's 2 free entries a year and then $27 per visit thereafter.

Indeed Ink Bold has 2 free entries for the card holder plus one guest. Note that previously the old Ink Classic and Ink Cash also have this feature. Chase removed them when revamping the Ink Bold in November 2011.

Best Option For Priority Pass Plus

Mrs. Redtop travels a lot, and I want to see she has Priority Pass Plus for lounge access.

Right now she has Amex Plat, which gives her that. However, we might not have that card six months from now.

Someone posted about the Fidelity Private Client Amex card. I think that is an option, with a $200 annual fee, but strangely enough it doesn't seem to be limited to Fidelity Private Clients (although I am one) nor is the fee waived for Fidelity Private Clients.

Still, $200 seems like a good deal for unlimited lounge access if you can use the lounges that particpate (and she can).

But does anyone know of any better deals?

I'm not seeing the Priority Pass benefit here. Am I missing something?

Moderator action

redtop43's question has been merged into the established thread. Note that USA card issuers have been forced to change from Priority Pass to Priority Pass Select and now (apparently) to Lounge Club. To understand the differences review this thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...club-card.html

However, if I understand correctly that your wife is eligible to apply for a Canadian issued card she should be able to obtain a full Priority Pass membership, see here:

My Merrill lynch amex card just discontinued priority pass and changed to Lounge pass which includes almost nothing in the US. The great perk for this card just isn't there anymore.

Lounge Pass -or- Lounge Club? These are very different. Most USA-based credit cards have changed to Lounge Club which offers a subset of Priority Pass Select locations, including 16 airports. I imagine this list will expand as the lounges see that their Priority Pass visits are drying up.

Lounge Pass is much more limited:

Do my cards have lounge access?

In another thread I had posited the question: does Escape by Discover have lounge access?

And, if so, how is its lounge access different from Ameriprise WEMC, Chase Ritz and PenFed Amex?

I was pretty sure each of these is affiliated with a different lounge access program...

I would be curious about this as well, at least when it comes to regards with the Escape by Discover.

I found a thread before from someone who said they had Lounge access, though I wasn't sure if this was an undocumented feature that the card had, but its just that so few people have the card and are vocal about it, or if this individual is a special customer being given extra treatment.

I've called Discover before, but they only stated the benefits that were on the website, and were unable to verify the existence of Lounge benefits.
