Well here's the thread of an individual claiming that they had Lounge access as part of their Escape by Discover. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...ge-access.html I'd just like to hear from more people who have the card if they also have this benefit, could just be an unpublished benefit that everyone gets or some special treatment that only certain individuals who meet a criteria get, I dunno, which is why I'd really like to hear from actual card owners.

No Discover offers lounge access by default but it is an added benefit to select accounts based on spending.

How is the benefit implemented, through Priority Pass, Lounge Club, the Diners Club network, or ...?

Thank you for the confirmation, now if only we could know what the spending criteria is to get the enhanced benefits . Now I wonder, seeing that you said they add these benefits to select accounts, does this mean only select Discover Escape accounts? Or could this apply to any Discover issued card, like the Miles or the More as long as someone puts enough spend. I haven't heard of such a thing, I dunno if you would be able to clarify this too.

After you spend $$$ annually on any Discover, you are invited to Premium Plus which includes enhanced benefits like airport lounge access, an elevated concierge service, and other extras. Most reps don't even know this exists and it is by invite only. See http://www.discovernetwork.com/finan...solutions.html for basic details.

Airline Lounge Cards: Ritz Carlton Lounge Club vs AmEx Platinum Priority Pass Select

How do these two cards compare?

RC Lounge Club has unlimited use of lounge for free, letting others in.

How strict is AmEx with letting a companion or others into the Lounge (for free) for Priority Pass Select?

With the Priority Pass Select membership with Platinum card it is $27 per person. Not sure about the cap on guests with you.

American Express Platinum cards issued in the USA provide access to:

  • AA lounges when flying AA, or codeshare partners if ticketed as AA
  • DL lounges when flying DL
  • US lounges when flying any airline
  • Airspace lounges when flying any airline
  • Priority Pass Select which includes AS lounges, hundreds of independent lounges, but specifically excludes all UA lounges
  • $200 Airline Fee Credit can be used to partially reimburse the cost of a United Club membership. There are many other ways to claim the $200.

AA, DL, US, Airspace lounge access includes spouse and children under age 21, or up to two traveling companions, at no cost.
Priority Pass access includes only the cardholder. Guests are $27 each per visit.

I believe the Ritz Carlton card includes only the Lounge Club membership, which provides access to only a subset of the Priority Pass network.

Keep in mind that PP Select members who get the benefit from financial institutions cannot enter United Club lounges unless they have paid for the full blown PP membership on their own.
