If Catalunya reported 0 as a result of delays, but its population was still used to calculate the rate it could be correct.

Pinging corporate-wage-slave just in case the numbers look weird for the Monday update.

Yes, I had spotted it, and it's not just Catalonia, some other data is missing. There is a CWS estimate of 200 for Spain, for what little it is worth, typically we will find it out next weeker or sooner. Still, they and Portugal have come down the mountain very quickly. Portugal was on 1600 not much more than a week ago. Czech and Slovak Republics kindly note.

Striking thing about that map is that Israel is darker than neighbors Syria and Egypt. And other regional neighbors like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Turkey.

Can the numbers of those Arab nations be trusted?

All the vaccinations and yet the results are not as evident as one would hope.

Look at Africa, no test no cases. The number of test done is the best indicator of the reality...no test, no controls, no cases and no travel bans

Some good news for Germans thinking about an Easter holiday:
- Portugal is no longer a variant of concern area = now split between risk areas (e.g. Lisbon) and no risk areas (e.g. Porto).
- Parts of Spain, including Mallorca, are now no risk areas.
DISCLAIMER: I didn't check the local restrictions apply and would restrict holidays in these areas.

In English: https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/InfAZ/...ublicationFile

Changes since last amendment:
1. New areas of variant of concern - areas at particularly high risk of infection due to widespread occurrence of SARS-CoV-2 virus variants of concern: There are no changes since last amendment (see current list below) Portugal is NO LONGER an area of variant of concern

2. New high incidence areas – areas at particularly high risk of infection due to a particularly high number of cases: Republic of Moldova - – the complete Republic of Moldova is considered as additional high incidence area. Tanzania - the United Republic of Tanzania is considered as additional high incidence area.

3. New risk areas – areas at particularly increased risk of infection: Finland – the region Ĺland is considered as additional risk area. France – the French Overseas Department Guadeloupe is considered as additional risk area. Portugal – the regions Algarve, Lisbon and the autonomous region Madeira are considered as additional risk areas (no longer an area of variant of concern).

4. Regions that are no longer considered as risk areas: Bahamas – the complete country Bahamas is no longer considered as risk area. Denmark – the region Nordjylland is no longer considered as risk area. Portugal – the regions Alentejo, Centro and Norte as well as the autonomous region Azores are no longer considered as risk areas (no longer an area of variant of concern). Spain – the autonomous communities Castilla-La Mancha, Valencia, Extremadura, Balearic Islands, La Rioja and Murcia are no longer considered as risk areas.

Germany is seeing a rise in cases now aren't they?

And they can't go for Easter Holiday in nearby Italy, which is locking down through Easter.

Most of Europe is seeing a rise in cases, expected to peak some time in April. It is the English variant of the virus. And I believe international Easter holidays in Europe are a bad idea this year. Hopefully we’ll have proper summer holiday options.

The stupid vaccine rollouts are soooooo freaking slow, get on with it already, and the animals keep infecting each other with corona parties, weddings, and $ht, this is going to be another 3-4 wasted months of our lives, let's hope there is some serious improvement by summer.

Yes I feel the same, the vaccine rollout is just too bureaucratic here in Germany, done the German way, it is very frustrating. That coupled with pandemic fatigue + the variant: the next 3 months are going to be really bad.
Here is the RKI forecast, produced today. It makes for a gloomy Easter:
