Some more evidence that isn't so good...

Given the new CO mileage accrual information, here is a comparison of some of the mileage accrual differences (EQM/RDM) between CO One Pass vs UA Mileage Plus for some airlines in discounted economy class tickets (mostly in S class):

Air Canada - CO: No miles accrued for flights within Canada or between Canada and US, the rest 100% - UA: 50% for flights within Canada, the rest 100% (including between Canada and US)

Austrian Airlines - CO: 100% for flights within Europe, 50% for flights US-Europe - UA: 100% on flights within Europe and US-Europe

Lufthansa - CO: 100% for flights within Europe, 50% for flights US-Europe - UA: 100% on flights within Europe and US-Europe

Swiss - CO: 50% for T and W classes, 100% for the rest - UA: 100% for all discounted economy (including S, T and W)

On the additional bonuses, seems like they only apply on tickets of UA, US, CO and LH. The only difference is that for US flights, CO Gold earn only 50% bonues whereas UA Gold earn 100% bonus miles.

I know this is only a sample of differences, and everyone has his/her own preferences, travel patterns, and airlines of choice. It just seems that UA Mileage Plus provides better benefits for flights in other carriers from US to Europe. With these differences, I am not sure what is the main benefit of being CO Gold versus UA Gold - thoughts?

That is from 10.28.09.

Posting changes on the internet is considered an official annoucement. Various gov't agencies do this trick to hide things w/o people fidning out and if they do they can turn around and say it was published and give a date too. The public was offically notified so they did their j:rolleyes:b.

Hmmm. Well, perhaps a group of us are suffering a collective delusion, or maybe it was temporarily changed to read differently before or during mid-December (when I booked). Either way, if I'm stuck with 50%, I'm stuck with it. Will have to get rather creative to make Plat this year, though, if that's the case.

+1. I'm surprised they don't even give miles on Canada to US flights.

That is correct for flights in K, N, G, P, E, and T between the US and Canada and within Canada. :td: :td:

Yup...fortunately for me UA has decent enough coverage to most major Canadian cities that I can fly via DEN/ORD if I need CO miles. The allure of AC's 2x CRJs on MSP-YYZ is  compared to UA mainline via ORD.
