Although, LH FAs clearly hate speaking English.

That's not consistent with my experience; LH FAs nearly always speak to me in English, even when I answer in German (because I am stubborn and want to justify the time I spent learning German). I do tend to be reading things in English, however, and my German is far from fluent.

Maybe you just had a grumpy set of FAs? Or were you sitting near German speakers?

Good morning Box.

Sounds like it's time to shoot off an email or PM... If it was changed without announcement, you should be due some EQMs.

Done. I know I religiously checked EQM earnings before booking these. Hopefully CO will honor the posted EQM earnings rates at time of booking. If not, this is going to make Plat requal for 2010 very difficult, if not impossible. :(

From PHL and during DEQM, your contention is not true. :D

When the fare is the same to SJC, SEA, etc. it most definitely is true.

It does say on that page that they can change at any time without warning, but it is unlike CO Insider to not give everyone a heads up when stuff like that happens.

Sadly, not really. They change the earnings rates all the time and it is our problem, not theirs when it happens. The rules in effect at the time of travel are what govern the earning, not those of the time of purchase.

And, yes, it is a change.

This pretty much kills LH as a TATL option for me. I wonder if it has something to do with the ATI.

I'd agree. When I tried to speak German they would always respond in English.

Rot Ro-Roof may be in need of a complete resheathing
old sublayer was 1x6 and there are LOTS of gaps where the boards don't mate up

Still relatively not as good though, as a routing to somewhere back up the coast a bit.

Agreed, but in my case the fare was not the same, and PHX was far and away the lowest price of the usual suspects.

My intra-Europe LH flights were good, the FAs spoke English to me when they realized I was not German.

I wonder what the criteria is to become an LH attendant. There are some beautiful people working for them.

Also, ALCO and I still cannot figure out how the Czech Republic has some of the most beautiful people in the world when their diet consists of potato soup, cabbage, sausage, and copious amounts of beer.

They seem to be cropping up everywhere as of late. I've seen them in multiple airline clubs and even a hotel lounge.

If you really want to maximize your return, J Edward and I found a box of them sitting in the corner for the SEA Pclub. Not just any box, but a 8.5x11x12" box full of 'em.

Very nice...SFO had the small display sitting empty on the desk where the agents would normally rebook you (but on Sunday UA had the matrons doing that job). Unattended certs found their way into my briefcase :D

The LH FA's on longhauls to/from North America must see a crapton of travelers who have meager German skills, and it would not surprise me in the least if answering in English is their way of saying "Please do not subject me to the butchering of my native language. You are a peon and I shall reinforce that belief by answering you in your own language."

Valid point. I could definitely see a certain CO employee making good on it though - especially since the change was made without any sort of announcement.

The FAs were actually very nice, but I was flying DUS-EWR which doesn't seem to attract many (or any? :)) English speaking passengers - everyone around me was speaking German. Even if this was the norm, I wouldn't hesitate to fly LH again.

I'm guessing there are never any good MRs out of IAH, correct?
