While she is enamored of many of the people she has met, she does not comprehend the mission of miles and points and therefore avoids the community when I would rather do the opposite. She also believes that mileage runners are neglecting their families and never home since they are always out pointlessly flying. Teh Box has coined a term for this - sdm1130 and I invented the "screw it window".

I still say that the non-advanced shooters among us make a weekend Do out of the SigSauer Academy in MHT. Those guys in the video are far beyond what I'm comfortable shooting. Looks cool, but I'd be a liability on a range like that.

I missed by two when I took that flight for my PHX MR. Granted, it was a weekday. I'm on the Saturday version of the Do IV party flight in February (CO657). On Saturdays they run that flight with 8F - :(

I would add PHX, and sometimes SNA/SJC to that list as well. If you are looking for a same day West Coast turn, those are the minimum six city pairs to check, IMO.

I forgot to mention last night that my andouille jambalaya tonight is being made with the andouille from Costco that is pork-free. It's a chicken sausage. Should be fun.

SMF could be on the list, though I have no idea whether it is possible to do a same-day turn from there. Basically, it's anywhere on the west coast from PHL where both CO and WN fly.

All this Costco talk and I may have to get a membership, once I figure out where the local Costco is (supposedly somewhere near The Biggest Mall East of Minneapolis).

aloha box. In regards to the Homewood discussion, they're inconsistent. It's my hotel of choice in certain cities I frequent and I avoid them like the plague in others.

If you get a new (within the past 3 years) construction they've worked out the kinks. If you get an older one, it's a time machine to a time not that long ago when hotels were miserable. Yeah the kitchen in your room is kind of quirky cool but once you realize you'll never use it, it's just useless space. The flow in some of the rooms can be :rolleyes:.

What bothers me about brands like Homewood are the inconsistencies. I like to know what I'm getting when I travel (for work). I was at a Homewood a week and a half ago when I was b!tching in here about the Hilton brand.

The wi-fi was terrible (I picked-up a stronger signal from an adjacent hotel :mad:), half the equipment in the gym was inop. (I snuck into the adjacent hotel to use their gym), there was water pressure trouble in the bathroom, and the "breakfast" lacked the Home:rolleyes: standards (off to Dunkin'!).

I'm considering getting a Dell Mini 10v for 35K points and turning it into the Mac netbook Steve Jobs doesn't think I need.

I did forget SMF, and yes, same-day turns are possible, but IIRC there's only one schedule permutation that makes it possible. One flight goes :rolleyes: and your day is shot.

Fiancee unfortunately has to go there on a somewhat regular basis. One of the larger tenets of her job description is making the presence of her employer there look pretty.

And if you want to get some attention for those efforts, take photos of every step in the process and write up a compelling narrative insulting Mac's belief that you do not need such a device.

They seem to be cropping up everywhere as of late. I've seen them in multiple airline clubs and even a hotel lounge.

If you really want to maximize your return, J Edward and I found a box of them sitting in the corner for the SEA Pclub. Not just any box, but a 8.5x11x12" box full of 'em.
