fozz, regarding today's blog post -- what were you expecting? US hates customers.

At the pressing of a number of people, I figured there was a chance in hell they would be cooperative. Unfortunately not.

That said, I think it will be fun to file weekly DOT complaints and maybe go to daily in a few weeks. That may be better then taking them to small claims.

Another quick cell passing through the BNA-ish area.

I've probably filed over a dozen legit DOT complaints against them (one of which I think was part of a "class action" behind a large fine) and took them to small claims court (which they didn't show up to).

Please don't think DOT and court are mutually exclusive.

In other news, the best way to have a great experience on US is to not fly US. :-:

It does amaze me that while every other airline rushes to address a DoT complaint, US doesn't seem to care. They really have given up, haven't they?

I don't. :)

Agreed. I think I have 2 more flights on 'em from the MSP-GEG runs. If I get hit with a schedule change on that one, i'll drop it and switch back to UA.

Their business model is simple, provide no added value service including, but not limited to, customer relations. Why? Because people still by the tickets. They can kvetch and moan all the way, but as long as people buy the tickets then US doesn't care (save for the occasional DOT fine).

Where their model is fundamentally flawed is that their operating costs are significantly higher than their true LCC competitors and they can never win on a cost only proposition.

In other news, I'm outtie box. Going to hit the gym for a bit so I can look good in my Maple Leaf.

DARE, the class where all the students point and laugh at the silly police officer trying to communicate to kids?

Not even going to try to read the Box at this point. Made it to Seattle fine. Have been in the airport for about 90 minutes now because there is a bar here and we got side-tracked.

I have no expectations of sobriety within the next 96 hours.

Oh, and if my Box calendar involves a TSA xray machine then the image on the screen should be a B&W silhouette of , preferably holding a bottle of booze somehow.

Grr... in the last half hour before SDC was available to me, someone booked the last available seat on the earlier flight, so now best I can hope for is STBY. At least I've got good positioning on the EUA list...
